How ANZ protects you online
ANZ uses a variety of methods to protect you when you use ANZ digital services*
Two-factor authentication via a security device
Two-factor authentication provides an additional layer of security when using ANZ digital services.
With two-factor authentication, you confirm your digital identity using a combination of something you know (your password) and something you have (one of the security device types shown below).
Use of both means that even if an unauthorised person obtains your password, that piece of information alone is insufficient to access your ANZ digital services.
Although not required for all users within your business, ANZ strongly recommends the use of a security device at all times. You can request a security device for your users at any time.
ANZ offers the following security device types for use with our digital services.
Please note that not all security device types are available for all digital services or for all users. Additionally, laws and regulations in some geographies may mandate the use of a particular type of security device.
A token is a small device resembling a calculator. A token generates a single use code you are required to enter when logging on and/or performing important banking activities.
Each token is issued to an individual user by ANZ and is protected by a PIN.
ANZ Digital Key
ANZ Digital Key is an app you can download, enabling you to use your mobile device for convenient two-factor authentication with your finger or face identification, or your device PIN.

Segregation of duties
Having a single individual perform all functions within a digital channel can increase the risk of fraudulent activity going undetected. As such, ANZ strongly recommends you segregate these duties amongst multiple users.
ANZ digital services provide this capability, allowing you to structure access to a channel such that different users are each required to verify and complete different steps in a transaction, thereby ensuring integrity of the process.
Each time you log on to or use an ANZ digital service, your connection is protected by 128-bit Transport Layer Security (TLS) technology for your peace of mind.
Automatic time out
ANZ digital services will automatically log you out after a period of inactivity.
