ANZ recognised for relationship strength for fifth time

ANZ has reinforced its reputation as the leading financial services provider for institutions in Asia, after again being recognised for the strength of its relationships with customers.

The 2022 Coalition Greenwich Asian Large Corporate Banking awards named ANZ the region’s number-one bank in terms of overall relationship quality for the fifth-consecutive year.

Coalition Greenwich also named ANZ overall relationship quality leader in Hong Kong and in China, both also for the fifth-straight time.

ANZ Managing Director, International, Simon Ireland said the win was welcome recognition for the bank’s work across the Asian region.

“[The award is a] testament to our strategy of developing meaningful relationships with our customers who are looking to move goods and capital around the region and into our home markets of Australia and New Zealand,” he said.

“The preferences of our customers in Asia continue to shift and the pandemic has only intensified the pace of those changing needs, these strong results show us we’re focusing in the right areas while indicating where to invest to grow our business.”

ANZ also received Greenwich Excellence awards for Ease of Doing Business, Provision of Advice and Ability to Streamline KYC Processes in Asian Large Corporate Banking.

The annual Greenwich Awards are based on an independent study which speaks to over 900 Asia-based groups and foreign subsidiaries. It processes responses from groups with an annual turnover of more than $US500 million.

The study measures overall market penetration in Asia - excluding Australia, New Zealand and Japan – asking executives to rate their relationship quality with select organisations.

The news comes after ANZ Institutional was recognised in December for its successful work in capital markets, being named the number-one bond house in both Australia and New Zealand for the twelfth consecutive year.
