ANZ in India

As a major engine of growth in the region, India remains an integral part of ANZ’s strategy in Asia.

ANZ has been in India since 1984 through its presence as Grindlays Bank. ANZ established its Institutional business through its Mumbai branch in 2011, followed by operations in Gurugram in July 2015, outer Bengaluru in May 2016 and Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) in May 2025.

Since 1988, ANZ has also established a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru.  This centre represents a significant portion of ANZ’s global workforce and is a critical component of the bank’s global operating model, underscoring India’s strategic importance over the long term.
