Delete a Pay Anyone payee

Your Pay Anyone payee list comprises of the recipients you have saved in order to make Pay Anyone payments to them in the future. You can also delete a payee.

Please note that once you delete payee details from the Pay Anyone payee list they cannot be retrieved; they need to be re-entered and saved.

Your Pay Anyone payee list comprises of the recipients you have saved in order to make Pay Anyone payments to them in the future.

You can delete a payee easily.

Step 1 - Navigate to "Manage payees"
  • Go to the "Profile menu
  • Select "Manage payees
Step 2 - Delete the payee
  • Select the payee you wish to delete
  • Select the “Delete” icon
  • Select “Delete” to delete payee immediately
  • The payee details will be deleted and the payee will be removed from your payee list
  • You can re-add the payee to the Pay Anyone list at any time

Please note, you cannot delete a payee if there is a future or recurring payment scheduled for that payee. You must first cancel the scheduled payment(s).

If you wish to delete a future dated or recurring payment, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 11.59pm Melbourne time on the day prior to the payment date.

What information do I need about the payee to save them?

 

If you want to save a payee's details in your Pay Anyone payee list, all you need is their account details including BSB number (six digit number), account number and account name You will also need to create a nickname for the payee to help you identify them for furture payments. 

What if the payee's details change?

 

If the payee's bank details change, you can easily edit the payee.

  • Go to the “Profile” menu.
  • Select “Manage payees”.
  • Select the payee you wish to edit.
  • Update their details and select “Save”.
  • You can update the BSB number (financial institution number), account number, account name and payee nickname.
  • Once you edit the payee's details it will be updated immediately within the same ANZ Internet Banking session.
Can I delete a payee?

Yes. You can delete a payee from the Pay Anyone payee list any time.

  • Go to the “Profile” menu
  • Select “Manage payees”.
  • Select the payee you wish to delete.
  • Select the “Delete” icon
  • Select the “Delete” to delete payee immediately

Does the payee need to have an ANZ account?

No. The payee need not have an ANZ account. 

  • The Pay Anyone function within ANZ Internet Banking will allow you to transfer funds from your ANZ account to an account with any Australian financial institution (bank, building society, credit union, etc).
  • All you need is the BSB number, account number and account name of the payee.
Why won't it let me delete my payee?
  • You cannot delete a payee if there is a future or recurring payment scheduled for that payee.
  • You must first cancel the scheduled payment(s).

Can I retrieve the payee details again once it is deleted?

No. Once you delete the payee, their details will be immediately removed from your payee list. You will need to re-enter the details if you want to transfer to this payee in the future.
