ANZ Internet Banking offers convenient international services that allow you to transfer funds overseas, purchase international bank drafts, travellers' cheques and foreign currency. You can also view foreign exchange rates.

In order to use these international services you must first register.

Registering for international services is easy.

  • Go to the "Pay and transfer" menu.
  • Select "International services" and follow the steps below.
Before registering for international services
Step 1 - Read and accept the terms and conditions
  • Select the checkbox to acknowledge that you have read and accepted the terms and conditions.
Step 2 - Click the "Apply" button
  • After you click the "Apply" button, a new screen will display advising that your application has been lodged.
  • Your access will be activated after 12.00am (midnight AEST) and will be available when you log on to ANZ Internet Banking next time.

What types of functions can I access via the international services section?

You can use ANZ Internet Banking for the following international functions:

  • Transfer funds overseas: transfer funds to overseas accounts in any of the available currencies
  • Purchase an international draft: purchase a draft (foreign currency cheque) by nominating the payee for the draft and the currency
  • Order foreign currency cash and/or travellers cheques: choose from the available currencies
  • View current foreign exchange rates:rates are updated daily
  • International payee list: manage your international payees
  • Manage your access to international services: change your daily limit or remove your access.

Your daily Pay Anyone limit will apply for both Pay Anyone and international transactions.

How long does it take to register for international services?

Once you apply for international services, it will be activated after midnight. You can log on to ANZ Internet Banking any time after this to make international transfers.

Do I have to be registered for Pay Anyone first?

Yes. You must be registered for Pay Anyone function before you can apply for international services.

Do I need to re-apply for a daily limit?

No. Your daily Pay Anyone limit will apply for both Pay Anyone and international transactions.

How much does it cost to make international payments?

The cost for international payments will vary depending on the type of payment you are requesting as follows:

How long do international transfers take?

Depending on the type of transfers you have requested, international transfers may take up to four bank business days to be processed.

  • International money transfers (transfer funds overseas): are processed as immediate payments and your account is debited immediately. It may however, take 24-48 business hours to be processed depending on when the transfer was requested. Transfers submitted before 6.00pm (AEST) on a bank business day will be processed on the same day but if submitted after 6.00pm (AEST) or on weekends or public holidays, it will be processed on the next bank business day. The time that it takes for the beneficiary's account to be credited will depend on the policy and systems of the beneficiary's bank. You will be notified via SecureMail once your request is processed by the ANZ International Services team.
  • International drafts: it may take 24-48 business hours to be processed depending on when the transfer was requested. For payments submitted before 6.00pm (AEST) on a bank business day, payments are processed immediately. If submitted after 6.00pm (AEST) or on weekends or public holidays, it will be processed on the next bank business day. Once the order is processed, you should receive the draft within three to five bank business days in your mailing address.
  • Travellers cheque and/or foreign currency cash: will take at least 4 bank business days to be processed. You may specify a different day but it needs to be at least four bank business days in advance. These need to be collected from your nominated ANZ branch.
Can I cancel international access once registered?

Yes. To cancel the international access follow the steps below:

  • Go to the"Pay and Transfer" menu
  • Select "International Services"
  • Click the "Remove Access to International Services" link.

Your international services access will be removed immediately but your Pay Anyone Access will remain the same.
