ANZ leaders trained on latest sustainability issues

Over seventy senior ANZ bankers have participated in education sessions on the social and environmental issues relevant to our region and practical ways to help our large corporate and Institutional clients manage these issues.

“The workshops are part of our long-term commitment to build well-rounded bankers,” says ANZ’s Managing Director Institutional, Shayne Elliott.

“We want our people to take a holistic view of issues facing our clients, including their social and environmental impact and opportunities, and then use this knowledge to offer them tailored, and innovative solutions.”

Experts from WWF-Australia and Sustainable Finance Limited led the workshops held in Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore, which included discussion of sustainability ‘mega-trends’, such as poverty in developing economies and transition to a lower carbon economy.

Case studies enabled participants to explore how banks can assist clients and communities to navigate these issues responsibly and take advantage of the substantial business opportunities.
