What is a balance transfer?
A balance transfer is where we provide credit to pay off (in whole or in part) an outstanding amount on a non-ANZ account (such as a credit, charge or store card account), and we have agreed (at your request) to treat the transaction as a balance transfer.
Why transfer my balance?
By transferring the debit balance of your other credit or store card accounts to an ANZ credit card account and closing those other accounts, you can significantly reduce the difficulty in managing different card repayments. Transferring your balance to a credit card account with a lower interest rate can help you save on interest which means you can pay off your balance faster.
How do I use the balance transfer calculator?
Enter the amount you would like to transfer from your non-ANZ credit or store card account as well as the interest rate applicable to that account. Then enter the interest rate applicable to balance transfers on the ANZ credit card to which you wish to transfer your balance. Click 'calculate' to find out how much you could save.
How does the balance transfer calculator work?
The balance transfer calculator calculates the difference in interest charges between your non-ANZ credit or store card account and the ANZ credit card account to which you wish to transfer your balance. Interest is calculated on the balance amount you input assuming a fixed interest rate for twelve months. The calculator works on the assumption that no transactions will be made during that twelve month period , and that you will pay an amount equal to 2% of the amount outstanding on your credit card account each month by the applicable due date.

Is there a fee involved?

Balance transfers resulting from certain promotional balance transfer offers attract a one-off Balance Transfer Fee (calculated as a percentage of the amount transferred).
