Multiple transfers

Multiple transfers are only available to ANZ business customers. They are a convenient way to make multiple transfers between the ANZ accounts that you have linked to ANZ Internet Banking.

  • The transfers are made with a single debit to one of your business accounts.
  • If you are an ANZ Internet Banking for Business customer you can save a template of multiple transfers so you can re-use it another time.

How many payments can be done at one time with the multiple transfers?

The "Multiple Transfers" function allows you to transfer funds between your linked accounts in two ways:

  • Create new multiple transfers: This allows you to transfer funds to up to ten linked accounts at one time with a single debit to your selected business account.
  • Use previously saved template to make a multiple transfer: This allows you to transfer funds to a maximum of 99 linked accounts at one time with a single debit to your selected business account.
Can I make multiple transfers in ANZ Internet Banking for Business on my iPhone®?

No. Currently ANZ Internet Banking for Business registration is not supported on iPhone®.

Why can an Operator user not see the new names I've given my accounts?

Currently, any customisation made within ANZ Internet Banking for Business is specific to the user's Customer Registration Number only. Hence, you can see them but the other Authorisers or Administrators cannot see the changed names.

Operators do not have the functionality to customise accounts within the registrations they use. So, they will only be able to see the generic account name while making payments/transfers.

Why is the status of my payment/transfer "expired"?

Payments/transfers can expire in one of two ways:

  • If it was created as an immediate payment/transfer and was not fully authorised within the authorisation period.
  • If it was created as a future-dated payment and was not authorised by 10.00pm (AEST) the previous bank business day by all required Authorisers.

If the status shows that the payment/transfer has expired, it cannot be authorised again. A new payment/transfer needs to be set up and authorised within the authorisation period.

Can I transfer funds between business accounts from different entities?

No. The "Transfer between my accounts" function can be used to transfer funds between the linked accounts for the same entity only.

  • If the accounts are under different entities it must be treated as a third party payment, hence the "Pay Anyone" function must be used instead.
  • Your daily Pay Anyone limit will apply.
Do transfers between business accounts need authorisation by a Security Device?
  • Transfers need to be authorised in line with the signing arrangements for your accounts i.e. if the requirement is for one to sign, or two to sign, the specified number of Authorisers must approve the transfer.
  • Since this is a transfer between your own accounts, and not a third party payment, the payment does not need to be authorised with a Use my Security Device.
  • The Authoriser will see a button to click, but will not be presented with a Security Code entry box.
Can multiple transfers sent for authorisation with incorrect details be fixed?

Yes. An Administrator or Authoriser can choose to "Send transaction for Repair" or "Reject" a payment/transfer. Any payment/transfer that has been sent for repair will appear in the repair queue and can be corrected and re-submitted for approval.

Does ANZ Internet Banking for Business have cut-off times for payments?

Yes. The cut-off times are the same as those for ANZ Internet Banking.

  • Payments need to be authorised prior to 6.00pm (AEST) on a bank business day. Any payments authorised after this time, will be processed the next bank business day.
  • The cut-off time for transfer between accounts is 10.00pm (AEST) on a bank business day.
  • The standard cut off time for direct debit is 6.00pm (AEST) on a bank business day.
How long do transfers between my ANZ linked accounts with different CRNs take?

In this situation the transfer needs to be done as a Pay Anyone payment so the balances will reflect the transfer in the debiting account in real time, but the funds will not be available in the receiving account until the next bank business day. This is a security requirement.

Important notes
  • You cannot delete or cancel a transfer to be processed today.
  • Immediate transfers made via ANZ Internet Banking or ANZ Internet Banking for Business will be processed to your account on the same day, provided they are made before 10pm Melbourne time Monday to Friday (excluding national public holidays) for funds transfers.
  • Any transaction made after this time may be processed on the following business day or Banking Business Day. A Banking Business Day is a day on which banks in Melbourne or Sydney are able to effect settlement through the Reserve Bank of Australia.
  • Future-dated transfers require cleared funds to be available in your account at 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day before the scheduled transfer or your transfer will be unsuccessful.
