We know that when using ANZ Internet Banking there are certain accounts you use more than others so we make it easy for you to customise the way your linked accounts list is displayed.

Renaming your accounts is quick and easy and can make transacting more convenient for you.

To rename an account:

  • Go to the "Profile" menu.
  • Select "Personalise accounts" and follow the steps below:
Step 1 - Select the relevant account to rename
  • Select the account you want to rename, using the radio buttons under the "Select" column.
  • Select the "Rename account" link located below your list of accounts.
Step 2 - Enter a new name for your account
  • New account name: enter a new name for your account
    • The name should not exceed 20 characters in length
    • The name should not contain punctuation or special characters such ampersands (&) and hashes (#). For example “John’s account #one” would not be valid due to the apostrophe and hash.
    • You should not use inappropriate or unsuitable language.
  • Select "Save".

After selecting "Save" your account will display with its new name throughout ANZ Internet Banking.

  • Renaming the account will not change the account type or the official account name or ANZ's records.
  • The purpose of renaming an account is to help you distinguish it from other accounts when making payments/transfers and when receiving online statement notifications.

Why should I rename my accounts?

Renaming an account will help you identify it when making payments/transfers.

  • For example: If you have two credit cards linked to your ANZ Internet Banking, both will display as "Credit Card" in your accounts drop down list when making payments/transfers. 
  • To avoid confusion and ensure you transfer to the correct account, it's a good idea to rename the accounts so that they can be easily identified.
Will renaming accounts also update the records of the bank?

No. Renaming accounts will not change the official records of the bank. The new name that you have given to the account will only be used by ANZ Internet Banking.

If an Administrator renames an account will the Operators, Authorisers and other Administrators see these changes?

No. Renaming or reordering accounts will only change the way they appear within your own ANZ Internet Banking for Business session. Other users cannot see these changes.

How do I customise my accounts as an ANZ Internet Banking for Business Operator?

As an Operator, you cannot rename or reorder any accounts. This function is only available to the account holders and signatories of the accounts.
