Trade finance loans

A trade finance loan is short-term working capital finance allowing importers/buyers and exporters/sellers to finance their trade commitments on a transactional basis (as evidenced by the appropriate trade documentation).

A trade finance loan can support both domestic and cross-border trade transactions and is an advance of funds in either the domestic or foreign currency of the payment obligation. A loan can be provided either pre or post-shipment to match the financing requirements of the importer/seller or exporter/buyer at the different stages of the trade transaction.
