No matter where your career takes you, our Summer Intern Program aims to provide you with the foundations you need to grow and succeed. Our paid eight-week program is a great way to explore a career with ANZ and gain invaluable experience.

Upon completion of the Summer Intern Program, you may even receive an early offer for our 2026 Graduate Program.

What kind of work will you be doing?

We believe the best way to learn is to throw yourself into new experiences. Each of our eight-week Summer Intern Program streams has a different focus.

  • Technology program stream: Work on the architecture and systems we need to deliver the best experience to our customers.
  • Retail program stream: Work on improving the financial wellbeing of ANZ customers, through customer-centric innovation and design and the distribution and fulfilment of our market leading products and services.
  • Commercial program stream: Work with our team to help ANZ be the leading bank for small to medium businesses looking to start, run, and grow.
  • Institutional program stream: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the intricate business sectors and industries we engage with, delivering first class solutions to address their complex and often multifaceted financial requirements.
  • Finance program stream: Provide insightful reporting to drive proactive financial analysis for the business you support, while ensuring provision of accurate and timely financial information.
  • Agribusiness program stream: Get hands on experience with farms in your region, learn the key drivers of operational and financial performance in a business, and understand how these can be used to support its growth and goals.

Who can join the Summer Intern Program?

The key to our success is to support and empower diversity of thinking. We encourage students from all degree disciplines to apply for our Summer Intern Program.

We do things differently and you might be surprised by what you find. Your University marks aren’t the be-all and end-all, because we’re equally as interested in your creative thinking and comfort in adapting to new people and situations.

We’re looking for people who learn from challenges and failures, are digitally savvy and data literate. Your interests, hobbies, skills and experiences also help us get to know you more.

To be eligible you should be:

  • a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia; and
  • in your penultimate or 2nd last year of university studies of your bachelors or post-graduate degree.

Our process

We have simplified our recruitment process to give you the opportunity to show your best self, while having fun getting to know us along the way.

Our application process:

  • Online application form (it’s really short we promise)
  • Game-based assessment (16 games that take about 30 minutes to complete)
  • Personality questionnaire (a whole heap of questions about how you like to work)
  • Digital video interview
  • Face-to-face interview
