Our approach

Making banking more accessible

Providing convenient access to branches and ATMs throughout metropolitan, regional and rural areas is an important part of our commitment to provide convenient and simple banking services.

Increasing our presence

As at 30 September, across the Group, we have 1,274 branches and offices (Australia 861, New Zealand 262, Asia Pacific Europe and America (APEA) 151 and 3,956 ATMs (Australia 2703, New Zealand 688, Asia Pacific 565) .

205 of our branches operate with extended opening hours for the convenience of our customers, with many open later than 5pm on Friday, or open Saturday or Sunday, 159 in Australia and 46 in New Zealand.

Accessibility for people with disabilities and non-English speaking customers

As at 30 September 2013, 3,399 of our ATMs are equipped with an audio-enabling feature (Australia 2703, New Zealand 696) to allow visually impaired customers to listen to an audio translation of information as it appears on the screen.

New ATMs also allow for wheelchair access with the screens and keypads a minimum distance from the ground. We avoid locations that have stairs-only access.

In New Zealand, ANZ was the first bank to introduce multilingual ATMs featuring Japanese, Korean, Chinese and English language options.

Across our Asia Pacific region, our ATMs are multilingual.
