A dedicated support network

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing an inclusive and welcoming workplace for Indigenous employees, we have established the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Network. The network is designed to support Indigenous employees while improving cultural awareness and education. You can learn more about our cultural awareness initiatives here.

An investment in your future

Each year, we invest heavily in the training and development of all ANZ employees. Our Indigenous Traineeships provide the opportunity to start you career at ANZ whilst completing your final years of high school, or after graduating as a full-time Personal Banker.

School-based Traineeships

Our School-based Traineeship offers you the chance to complete your education whilst developing further skills and workplace experience to gain entry into the workforce. While completing years 11 and 12 you will:

Full-time traineeships

Throwing yourself into new experiences is the best way to learn. That’s why we take a learning-by-doing approach when it comes to trainees. When you undertake a full-time traineeship, you’ll earn a full-time wage by working and learning alongside members of our team. You’ll also be entitled to three hours of paid study time each week to help you grow, learn and progress your career. Over 18 months you will:

If you’re an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, you can register your interest to work at ANZ via the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Opportunity Bank.

Once you go to the Opportunity Bank, registering is as simple as:

  1. Search for "Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander"
  2. Choose the expression of interest link for your state
  3. Select "Apply Online" and read the Privacy Agreement
  4. Select "New User" and create your login and profile

Graduate Program

We are working with universities to promote our Graduate Program and Summer Vacation Programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. These programs aim to attract, develop and retain talented individuals who wish to embark on a challenging career within the banking and finance industry.
