Education for Development (EFD)

EFD is an international NGO working in Vietnam since 1996. EFD strengthens and empowers local organizations, enabling them to improve and expand their educational services for disadvantaged children and youth. Through their development, disadvantaged children and youth can gain fair and equal access to education and training thereby developing themselves to their full potential.

In 2013, ANZ financially supported EFD to implement two projects at two vocational training centers for the orphaned and disabled in HCMC and Binh Duong. The aim of the two projects was to improve the vocational training quality and job placement for disadvantaged youth to have better jobs and stable lives. Besides, ANZ also provided MoneyMinded training to the youth at the two centers.

The two projects were successfully carried out and achieved positive results. In the first year, 37 disadvantaged youth were trained and found jobs with stable income every month. MoneyMinded training by ANZ, showed impacts on those youth with gained knowledge and confidence to better manage their incomes and expenses.
