  • ANZ-Roy Morgan Vietnam Consumer Confidence has fallen slightly to 135.0 (down 0.5pts) in September. ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence remains clearly above the 2014 average of 132.0. This month’s fall in Vietnam Consumer Confidence was primarily driven by an increasing number of respondents saying now is a ‘bad time to buy’ major household items.

  • 05 September 2014, ANZ and Saigon Children’s Charity (SCC) today launched two primary schools called Luong Tam 1 and Luong Nghia 1 under Project 3E (educate.enrich.employ), a joint community initiative in Long My District, Hau Giang Province between ANZ and SCC launched on 20 November 2013. Last month the first 2-classroom kindergarten named Vinh Vien A was opened to welcome more than 70 young children into the new school year. The fourth school is also underway and will be opened at end of September, fulfilling this year’s target of the project.
  • The ANZ-Roy Morgan Vietnam Consumer Confidence increased to 135.5 (up 1.4pts) in August. ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence is now clearly above the 2014 year-to-date average of 131.6 and is the highest since March 2014 (136.4). This month’s increase in Vietnam Consumer Confidence was primarily driven by increasing confidence about economic conditions in Vietnam over the next year. This suggests a rotation away from political concerns to focus more on the improving macroeconomic backdrop.
  • 05 August 2014, ANZ today announced it has officially joined the Vietnam e-Customs Tax system to create simpler and more convenient ways for corporate customers to manage their payments, including tax payments.
  • The ANZ-Roy Morgan Vietnam Consumer Confidence Index posted another strong increase (up 3.1pts) to 134.1 in July and now stands well above the 2014 average of 131.0. Easing political tensions appear to have again contributed to the increase in confidence over the month.
  • 11 July 2014, ANZ today announced the launch of Vietnam’s first monthly private Consumer Confidence Index in partnership with Roy Morgan Research. The survey will accurately gauge sentiment in Vietnam’s fast-growing consumer sector as consumption becomes a more significant and stable driver of overall economic growth.
  • 03 July 2014, ANZ today announced it directed a large portion of its 2013 carbon neutrality budget into a significant energy-saving project in Vietnam. The investment is evidence of ANZ’s Corporate Sustainability strategy in action and its efforts to support sustainable development in the region. ANZ's investment in the abatement certificates (carbon offsets) of this project has provided direct benefit to the Vietnamese market, where ANZ has over 20 years of operation.
  • 28 May 2014, ANZ Vietnam today announced the official opening of its ANZ Bank (Vietnam) Limited – Tan Binh Transaction Office at 113 - 115 Cong Hoa Street, Tan Binh District, HCMC, following the State Bank of Vietnam’s approval for the relocation from Me Linh Point Transaction Office, 11 Me Linh Street, District 1, HCMC.
  • 15 April 2014, ANZ Vietnam today launched a three-month reward campaign running until 12 July 2014, linked to  its wealth management product suite.
  • 07 April 2014, ANZ today announced a three-month campaign to reward its mortgage customers. The campaign offers a mortgage rate discount of up to 4% per annum for the first 6 months of the loan tenure.

 

  • 28 November 2013, ANZ today announced the results of its 2012 MoneyMinded Impact Report in Vietnam, which highlights the positive impact its flagship financial literacy program, “MoneyMinded Vietnam”, has had for young Vietnamese people.
  • 20 November 2013, ANZ and Saigon Children’s Charity (SCC) today announced a three year community education program called Project 3E: educate.enrich.employ, on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers’ day. Working in conjunction with Hau Giang Education and Training Department, the project will provide quality education to fight poverty, enrich people’s lives and support the employment prospects of more than 4,000 disadvantaged children and young people in Long My district, Hau Giang Province.
  • 07 November 2013, ANZ today welcomed the announcement that it has been ranked No.1 among foreign FX providers in Vietnam for the second year in a row in two categories: FX products and services and FX research & market coverage, according to a recent survey of corporates conducted by Asiamoney magazine.
  • 21 October 2013, ANZ Vietnam today announced the official opening of its ANZ Bank (Vietnam) Limited – Transaction Center - Suncity Kiosk at 13 Hai Ba Trung street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi, after the State Bank of Vietnam approved the relocation from Golden Westlake, 151 Thuy Khue street, Tay Ho district, Hanoi.
  • 19 September 2013, ANZ announced the official opening of its representative office in Binh Duong, having received its final approvals from the State Bank of Vietnam.

  • 23 January 2013, ANZ announced it will offer a 2-year fixed mortgage rate of 12.5% per annum for any new drawdown from now to 23 February 2013. This exciting offer applies to all existing and new customers for any new drawdown from VND01 billion during the promotion period (23 January 2013 to 23 February 2013).
  • 11 January 2013, ANZ Vietnam is now opening three of its full service branches in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on Saturdays to bring greater flexibility, access and convenience to customers. ANZ was amongst the first foreign banks in Vietnam to open on Saturdays in Hanoi since June 2010 and is now the only foreign bank to open on Saturdays in HCMC.

  • ANZ announced a statutory profit after tax of $5.7 billion and an underlying profit of $6.0 billion for the financial year ended 30 September 2012, both up 6% over the prior year (YOY).The proposed final dividend of 79 cents per share (cps) fully franked is 4% higher YOY. The total dividend for 2012 is $1.45 per share. (25 October 2012)
  • 22 October 2012, ANZ Vietnam announced a one-year partnership with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation which includes a VND400 million cash donation for charitable activities and several staff volunteer activities throughout the year. The partnership was launched with an exciting soccer match between street children and ANZ staff in Hanoi.

  • ANZ launched a four-month promotion campaign for new mortgage loans. From 1 October 2012 until 1 February 2013, customers will receive a special discount rate of up to 3% per annum, representing a variable mortgage rate as low as 8.9% per annum, for the first three months of their new mortgage loan.   • 23 May 2011, ANZ opened a Signature Priority Banking lounge in Hanoi, providing greater convenience to its affluent retail banking customers in Vietnam. The new lounge complements ANZ’s first Signature Priority Banking branch in Ho Chi Minh City, which was opened in September 2010.
  • March 2011, ANZ Vietnam has received The Asian Banker “Best Mortgage Business” Award in Asia for strong growth in its customer focused, innovative home loans.   • ANZ donated gifts to poor patients at Bach Mai Hospital. On 27 January 2011, Representative leaders with ANZ staff have visited and donated gifts to the poor kidney patients at Phuong Mai and Cot Co neighbors. On this occasion, more than 100 poor patients have received gifts include: cash, sweets and warm clothes.
  • 06 January 2011, ANZ has coordinated the first VND syndicated loan transaction by a foreign bank in Vietnam in the last 12 months - a VND600 billion (equivalent) term loan facility for Hoa Phat Energy Joint Stock Company.
