Thuy Dam

Country Head and General Manager, ANZ Vietnam

Ms Dam is the Country Head for Vietnam, managing the full banking operations for both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and the Representative in Can Tho, with 300 staff country-wide.

Thuy joined ANZ Investment Bank in 1996 in Singapore as one of the three members to spearhead the bank’s advisory and financing capabilities in South East Asia.

As a Director with ANZIB’s project finance department in Singapore, Thuy was responsible for the origination and execution of upstream transactions for major oil & gas players in Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam) and successfully positioned ANZ as the leading bank in Asia for upstream and downstream.

A selection of notable project finance transactions in Asia for which Ms.Dam was mainly responsible for, or significantly involved in, includes Oil and Gas in Indonesia and Thailand, Petrochemicals in China, Water in Vietnam, Power in Bangladesh, Thailand and Vietnam.

Prior to joining ANZ, Ms. Dam was one of five founding Partners of Investconsult Ltd., the largest and most respected foreign investment consulting firm in Vietnam where she successfully advised several joint ventures and foreign-owned corporations in their entry strategy and development plans in the country. She was involved in capital investment projects representing an amount in excess of USD800m and acted on behalf of some of the Fortune 100 companies as well as major American and European financial institutions.

Ms. Dam holds an M.B.A from Wharton School of Business, where she was a Fulbright Scholar.

Phil Crouch

Head of Personal Banking, ANZ Vietnam

Phil is the Head of Personal Banking for Vietnam, responsible for managing the branch activities for personal and business customers throughout Vietnam.

Phil joined ANZ in 1992 as a graduate in the bank’s Business and Banking Division in Melbourne.

Since then Phil has held senior management position in Credit, Operations, Mortgages, Call Centre and International both in Corporate and Personal Banking.

Phil has more than 6 years experience in Vietnam and 2 years in Singapore.

Phil holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.

Vu Thuy Quynh

Chief Manager, ANZ Hanoi, and General Manager, ANZ V-trac Leasing

Quynh joined ANZ Hanoi in 1992 from the External Economics Department of the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) Head Office.

In the last 15 years with the Bank, Quynh holds various senior management positions including Head of Corporate Bank Hanoi, and Head of Trade Finance Vietnam. She is currently the Chief Manager of ANZ Vietnam’s Hanoi branch in charge of corporate banking, leasing and structure export finance team in Hanoi.

Quynh has a Full Diploma (High Distinction) from the Hanoi Foreign Studies College.

Philip Paterson

Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking, ANZ Ho Chi Minh

Phil has almost twenty years experience in the Institutional banking sector, the last ten years of which has been focused on the Natural Resources and Commodity finance sectors. He has held a variety of roles in Project Finance and Relationship Management.

Phil has been recently appointed to this role. This is his second posting in Asia having previously been based in Jakarta for two and half years.

Phil holds a Master Of Applied Finance from Macquarie University in Sydney. He is married with two children.
