Opening an account with us is easy. Simply complete our account opening application form (PDF 244kB) and bring it to your local branch. You will be required to bring documentation to enable ANZ Vanuatu to confirm your identity. Please read below for full details.

Identification required to open an account

 

ANZ Bank (Vanuatu) Ltd and local legislation mandates necessary customer identification requirements are fulfilled prior to the opening of a bank account.

Customer identification ensures all customers provide multiple documents to meet the account opening criteria. The following are examples of required identification documents: valid passport, valid driving license (from the country to which you are a resident), national ID card (not from UK), birth certificate, health or pensioner card, tax assessment notice (less than three (3) months old), Government benefits notice (less than three (3) months old), Utility bill (less than three (3) months old), Letter of Employment and Education Provider Letter.

Please note the following

  • Diplomatic passports are not acceptable
  • For foreigners who are residents, residency permits cards are required
  • Identification documents forwarded by mail must be certified by either Judge of a Court, Justice of the Peace, Magistrate, Notary Public or Registrar or Deputy Registrar of Court but the following information must be visible on the document Full name of Certifying Officer, Qualification to certify, Employer of Certifying Officer and Date of certification.
