Your day-to-day banking doesn't need to cost you a lot. By selecting the right account, monitoring your transactions, and choosing the right transaction options you could reduce your bank fees.
Reduce the number of accounts you have
If you have multiple bank accounts you may be incurring fees on each account. You may want to consider merging your accounts, or check what the minimum balance for the account is to ensure you don't incur unnecessary fees.
Check the fees and charges on your bank account
It is worthwhile checking out what fees you incur with each transaction. Depending on the type of account you have, self service transactions using ANZ Internet Banking, ANZ Phone Banking, ANZ ATMs, EFTPOS and cheques, may incur lower fees than transactions via an ANZ branch and may help you reduce your bank fees.
If you have an ANZ Access Advantage everyday account you could have access to unlimited transactions using ANZ ATMs, ANZ Phone & Internet Banking, plus branch, cheque and EFTPOS for a monthly account service fee of $51. The only time you'll incur additional ANZ fees on your account is if you try to or do overdraw your account and/or transact overseas.
Investigate fee exemptions or packages
Ask about fee exemptions or packages for which you might be eligible. If you are aged under 18, a full time student, receive a Government benefit, or aged 60 and over you may be entitled to apply for a fee waiver. Use ANZ ATMs to minimise fees
Use ANZ ATMs to withdraw cash from your ANZ accounts, to avoid fees charged for using other banks' ATMs.
