New and existing customers – living in Australia

You can apply online for the following accounts:

To apply for an ANZ Access Deeming account call us on 1800 008 177, Monday to Friday, between 8am and 8pm (AEST) or visit your local ANZ branch.

New customers - moving to Australia

If you are currently overseas but planning to come to Australia, you can apply for an ANZ Access Advantage account using the non-Australian resident form.

 

To apply online for a personal ANZ everyday bank account or savings account you must:

  • be an Australian resident with an Australian address who is available to be identified in Australia upon opening the account or is an existing ANZ customer
  • use the account for personal use only (not to be used as a business account).

To open a new banking or saving account, select the account that is right for you (previous tab) and we will take you directly to the online application form. The online application will take about 5-10 minutes to complete.

Please note: to apply for an ANZ online saver account, it must be linked to an eligible ANZ account for which terms and conditions and fees and charges apply.

What happens after you apply online?

  1. You should receive an online application reference number.
  2. Within five business days, you will receive your welcome kit.
  3. If you are a new ANZ customer you will need to complete ANZ’s Customer Identification Process.
  4. When you receive your card you will need to activate it before you commence using it. A PIN advice will be mailed within five business days after the card is issued.

You may be able to manage your account through ANZ Phone Banking, ANZ Internet Banking or ANZ Mobile Phone Banking. Before you can use these services, you will need to obtain a customer registration number (CRN) and Telecode. Call us to register for these services on 13 33 50, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

New ANZ customers

If you are a new ANZ customer, you’ll need to complete a customer identification process (CIP) in branch before you can register for ANZ Phone and Internet Banking. Once the customer identification process is complete, you can register for ANZ Phone and Internet Banking.

Existing ANZ customers

If you are an existing customer that has already set up ANZ Phone and Internet Banking, then your new account will be linked to your existing CRN. ANZ Customer Service will complete this when they open your new account.
