Ways to send money overseas

There are two ways you can send money overseas with ANZ - an ANZ International Money Transfer or an ANZ International Draft. Whether it's a personal or business matter - ANZ can help you send foreign currency overseas - and ensure the money gets where you need it to go.

Option 1: ANZ International Money Transfer

An ANZ International Money Transfer is one of the fastest and safest ways to send money to friends and family overseas. The funds are simply transferred electronically from your account to the overseas account you choose.

Easy - All you need is an ANZ account and the details of the bank account you want to send money to. We've put together an easy step-by-step guide, just click on the 'Instructions for sending money overseas' button on your right.

Fast - It only takes a couple of minutes to send money overseas with ANZ and funds are usually available within 2-4 working days.

Where can you get started?

With ANZ, you can arrange an International Payment from your ANZ transaction account or ANZ credit card in three ways:

1. ANZ Internet Banking
Log in to ANZ Internet Banking - Click on the International Services tab - and follow the prompts to transfer funds overseas.
Remember, sending money overseas this way is covered by the ANZ Internet Banking Guarantee1

2. ANZ Phone Banking
You can purchase an ANZ International Money Transfer by calling 1800 352 535 (free call) in Australia, 8.00am to 8.00pm AEST/AEDT, Monday to Friday.

3. ANZ Branches and Foreign Exchange Centres
International Money Transfers can be purchased using an ANZ transaction account or ANZ credit card at all ANZ branches and Foreign Exchange Centres.

What are the fees and charges for an International Money Transfer2?

If you send an International Money Transfer using ANZ Internet Banking the fee is AUD $24.

If you send an International Money Transfer by visiting an ANZ Branch, Foreign Exchange Centre or ANZ Phone Banking the fee is AUD $32.

Option 2: ANZ International Draft

An ANZ International Draft is a more traditional way to transfer money to another country. It's simply a bank cheque that can be drawn in foreign currency or Australian Dollars and deposited at an overseas financial institution. You can purchase an International Draft via ANZ Internet Banking, ANZ Phone Banking, or at any ANZ Branch or Foreign Exchange Centre.

Please note that any ANZ International Draft purchase via ANZ Internet Banking or ANZ Phone Banking must be collected from a nominated ANZ branch.
