ANZ in Laos

ANZ is the first international bank to operate in Laos and has been in Laos since 2007. In 2019, our business in Lao PDR transferred from the locally-incorporated legal entity, ANZ Bank (Lao) Limited, to a branch of our Australian-incorporated parent entity, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited, Lao Branch.

We are one of the leading International banks in Laos and aim to be the bank that leads the advancement of the Laos banking sector and operating environment for our customers, staff and key stakeholders. Our goal is to bring international products and standards to Lao PDR to service the region's top Multi-National and Large Local Corporates.

In the community

ANZ is committed to supporting the communities in which we operate. By building sustainability into our business we can ensure that we achieve the greatest benefits for the Lao PDR and therefore our community agenda has included several activities to support communities in need and access to education. Our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive.

Key Corporate Sustainability Priorities:

  • MoneyMinded, ANZ's flagship adult financial education program aiming to help people improve financial skills, knowledge and confidence. The program has had a positive impact in Laos since it was first piloted in 2015.
