Edit a PayID – business customers

A PayID lets you use your mobile number, email address or ABN/ACN to receive secure payments quickly. Once created, your PayIDs can be easily managed and edited.

You can change the linked account to another one of your ANZ accounts, transfer it to a non-ANZ account or close the PayID. In some cases you may be able to change the name linked to a PayID as well.

What is a PayID?

A PayID is a simplified payment address that’s linked to a bank account and capable of receiving payments.  

ANZ allows you to link a mobile number, email address or ABN/ACN with an eligible ANZ bank account to create a PayID.

ANZ allows payments to PayID mobile numbers, email addresses, ABN/ACNs and Organisation IDs (Org IDs).

What is a PayID type?

A PayID type refers to the form of identifier linked to a bank account to create a PayID.

What is the difference between my PayID and my PayID name?

Your PayID is the phone number, email address or ABN/ACN that has been linked to your bank account.

Your PayID name is the legal name associated with your PayID. It is used by payers to confirm your identify prior to making a payment to your PayID.

Why has my PayID been locked?

To find out why your PayID has been locked and to unlock your PayID, you’ll need to call ANZ on 13 33 50 (International callers: +61 3 9683 8833) available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please note that you may have to answer security questions to verify your identity.

How do I unlock my PayID?

How long will it take to update my PayID details?

After you’ve submitted updates for a PayID, it should only take a few minutes before these changes are confirmed.

Please note that when transferring your PayID to a non-ANZ account, you’ll need to confirm the transfer with your other bank before the process can be finalised.

Payments will continue to be sent to the bank account that your PayID is currently linked to, until your updates are finalised.

How many PayIDs can I have linked to each bank account?

You can only link each of your PayIDs to one eligible bank account.

How many bank accounts can I link each of my PayIDs to?

You can only link each of your PayIDs to one eligible bank account.

I have a new mobile number – how do I change my PayID to this number?

Unfortunately, you can’t change your PayID, but you can create a new PayID with your new mobile number.

If you have a new mobile number you’d like to use as a PayID, you’ll need to update your ANZ contact details to include this mobile number so that it will be available for you to use to create a PayID.

Please note that if you are no longer in possession of the mobile number, email address or ABN/ACN that you’re currently using as a PayID then you should take the necessary steps to close this PayID.

I have a new email address – how do I change my PayID to this email?

Unfortunately, you can’t change your PayID, but you can create a new PayID with your new email address.

If you have a new email address you’d like to use as a PayID, you’ll need to update your ANZ contact details to include this email address so that it will be available for you to use to create a PayID.

Please note that if you are no longer in possession of the mobile number, email address or ABN/ACN that you’re currently using as a PayID then you should take the necessary steps to close this PayID.

Can I pay with my PayID?

No, your PayID is only for receiving payments.

How many PayIDs can I have?

You can create a PayID using each of the email addresses and mobile numbers that you have listed as contact details with ANZ.

If you have an eligible ANZ business account you can also create a PayID using an ABN/ACN.  

Where is PayID information stored and checked?

PayID information is stored in a Central Addressing Server (CAS). This information includes your PayID and your PayID name as well as the institution name and BSB and Account numbers of your linked account.

Can a PayID be used to withdraw money?

PayIDs can’t be used to withdraw from an account. They are designed to make sending and receiving payments easier.

Can PayIDs be used to receive overseas payments?

Payments to PayIDs are only supported within Australia.

Can someone from another bank pay to my PayID?

While most Australian banks should support payments to PayIDs, you may need to check with your payer to confirm whether or not they are able to make a payment to your PayID.

What is the difference between Osko and PayID?

PayID is the naming service that allows you to send and receive payments using a mobile number, email address, ABN/ACN or Organisation ID (Org ID).  

Osko is the service that provides near real time transfers between participating accounts.

Can somebody use my PayID to access my accounts?

No. Your PayID is only for receiving payments and cannot be used to access your accounts.
