Register for Pay Anyone

"Pay Anyone" is an easy way to transfer money from your account to someone else’s account. You can transfer to any Australian Financial Institution (bank, building society, credit union). All you need is the BSB number and account number of the recipient.

Registering for Pay Anyone is easy. To register for Pay Anyone:

  • Go to the "Pay and Transfer" menu
  • Select "Pay Anyone Access" and follow the steps below.
Step 1: Select your daily limit
  • The daily limit is the maximum amount you can transfer per day for Pay Anyone, international services, the purchase of bank cheques and donations to charity through ANZ Internet Banking
  • The daily limits for personal customers range from $1,000 to $10,000
  • Business customers using ANZ Internet Banking can apply for $5,000 to $25,000 while ANZ Internet Banking for Business customers can apply for up to $1,000,000
  • Only the limits available to you will be displayed
  • Choose your daily limit from the list provided by clicking the radio button.

Please note: The $1,000,000 limit requires higher authentication by ANZ and you may be contacted for further information to verify payment details.

If this information cannot be verified, payments may be cancelled.

Step 2: Submit your request
  • Click "Submit" to finalise your Pay Anyone registration.
Step 3: Answer your challenge questions
  • Challenge questions help us to verify your identity when you use ANZ Internet Banking.  
  • Enter the answer to your challenge question(s) and click the "Submit" button to proceed with your request.
  • If you are unable to answer your questions correctly you will not be able to complete your Pay Anyone registration.
Step 4: Application successful
  • If you answered your challenge questions correctly you will receive an application successful message.
  • At this stage you can click on the "Pay Anyone" link and make payments with your nominated daily limit effective immediately.

Do I need to register for Pay Anyone

Yes. You need to register for the Pay Anyone facility online and activate your daily limit before you can start transferring money to any Australian Financial Institution (bank, building society, credit union).

What does Pay Anyone cost?

There is no fee/charge for using Pay Anyone. However, if you have used all of your monthly free withdrawals for your account, normal excess transaction fees and government charges may apply.

How do I remove Pay Anyone access?
  • On the "Change Pay Anyone Access" screen.
  • Click the "Remove Pay Anyone access" button.
  • You can reinstate Pay Anyone access at any time in the future if you need to.
  • Remember if you remove your access to Pay Anyone all of your payee details will also be removed.
What daily limits are available to me and can I apply for others?

There are different daily limits available to you depending on the type of accounts you have. You need to firstly request a limit and activate it before you start making payments. Only the limits available to you will be displayed.

  • Customers with personal accounts may request daily limits of $1,000, $5,000 or $10,000. If you request $1,000, it will be activated immediately and you can start making payment on the same day.
  • Customers with business accounts may request daily limits of $5,000, $10,000, $15,000 or $25,000.
  • If you are an ANZ Internet Banking for Business customer you may request a daily limit of up to $1,000,000.
What additional authentication is required for my $1,000,000 Pay Anyone Limit?

To support your ANZ Internet Banking for Business $1,000,000 Pay Anyone Limit, additional authentication is required for certain transactions.

Please note:

  • ANZ may contact you to verify the details of certain payments using this limit. It is important to ensure you confirm transaction details with us from your source of truth (i.e. an invoice) to prevent sophisticated fraud threats. 
  • ANZ recommends that all third party transactions of $500,000 and above are authorised prior to 4.00pm AEST to ensure we can contact you to verify payment details when required. If we are unable to contact you to verify transaction information, payments may be cancelled.
What does my daily limit apply to?

The daily limit applies only to Pay Anyone, purchase of bank cheques online, donations to charity and international transfers via ANZ Internet Banking.

If I register for Pay Anyone, can I transfer funds overseas?

No. Pay Anyone allows you to transfer funds to any Australian financial institution (bank, building society, credit union). You need to register for international services along with Pay Anyone to be able to transfer fund overseas.

  • We will let you know if your answers do not match the answers you have previously set up. If you continue to enter incorrect answers you may have your access suspended as a precaution.
