Change my Pay Anyone daily limit

Your daily limit applies to Pay Anyone payments, international services (transferring funds overseas, purchasing international bank drafts), the purchasing of bank cheques and online charity donations.

  • Daily limits for personal customers range from $1,000 to $10,000 (or up to $25,000 if registered for ANZ Shield)
  • Daily limits for business customers using ANZ Internet Banking range from $5,000 to $25,000 (or up to $50,000 if registered for ANZ Shield)
  • If you are an eligible ANZ Internet Banking for Business user higher daily limit up to $1,000,000 can apply.

Only the limits available to you will display in the "Change your limit" section of the "Change Pay Anyone access" page.

Please note: The $1,000,000 Pay Anyone limit requires higher authentication by ANZ and you may be contacted for further information to verify payment details.

Changing your Pay Anyone daily limit is easy.

Navigate to "Change Pay Anyone access" page either by:

  • "Pay and transfer" menu > go to “Pay Anyone” page or;
  • "Update details" page >select "Change Pay Anyone access" hyperlink,

and follow the steps below.

Step 1: Select and submit your daily limit
  • Choose your daily limit from the list provided by clicking the radio button.
  • Click "Change my limit" to submit the request.
  • You may be prompted to answer your challenge questions to verify your identity before this is processed

Please note: The $1,000,000 Pay Anyone limit requires higher authentication by ANZ and you may be contacted for further information to verify payment details.

If this information cannot be verified, payments may be cancelled.

Step 2: Answer your challenge questions
  • Challenge questions help verify your identity when you’re increasing your Pay Anyone limit. If you’re decreasing your daily limit you won’t be prompted to answer any challenge questions so you can skip to Step 3.
  • When presented with a challenge question:
    • Enter the answer to your challenge question(s) and click the "Continue" button to proceed with your request.
    • If you are unable to answer your question(s) correctly you will not be able to change your daily limit.
Step 3: Application successful
  • If you answer your challenge question(s) correctly your request will be successful.
  • If you requested to increase your daily limit you can make Pay Anyone payments with your new daily limit effective immediately
  • If you requested to decrease your daily limit it will take effect the next time you log on to Internet Banking

What’s my daily limit?
  • Your daily limit is the maximum amount you can transfer on Internet Banking per day.
  • It applies to Pay Anyone, international services (transferring funds overseas, purchasing international bank drafts, travellers’ cheques and foreign currency) and the purchasing of bank cheques.
  • Your daily limit can range from $1,000 - $1,000,000 depending on the type of account you have.
What happens if I get my answers wrong?
  • We will let you know if your answers do not match the answers you have previously set up. If you are unsure of the answers please call us to verify your identity on 13 33 50 (International +61 3 9683 8833), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you continue to enter incorrect answers you may have your access suspended as a precaution.
What are challenge questions?
  • Challenge questions are a security feature that adds an extra level of protection. These are three questions that you set up with your own personal answers which help us verify your identity.
  • These questions and the answers are designed to be easy for you to remember but hard for someone else to guess.
What additional authentication is required for my $1,000,000 Pay Anyone limit?

To support your ANZ Internet Banking for Business $1,000,000 Pay Anyone Limit, additional authentication is required for certain transactions.

Please note:

  • ANZ may contact you to verify the details of certain payments using this limit. It is important to ensure you confirm transaction details with us from your source of truth (i.e. an invoice) to prevent sophisticated fraud threats. 
  • ANZ recommends that all third party transactions of $500,000 and above are authorised prior to 4.00pm AEST to ensure we can contact you to verify payment details when required. If we are unable to contact you to verify transaction information, payments may be cancelled.
