Deregister

You're able to deregister your ANZ Shield app at any time. ANZ Shield has been designed to
add an extra layer of security to your ANZ Internet Banking, so please consider if this is the appropriate action for you.

If you have access to your phone:

  1. Select 'ANZ Shield' from the 'Profile' menu.
  2. Select 'Deregister' from the 'ANZ Shield Hub'.
  3. Follow the prompts to deregister ANZ Shield.

If you don't have access to your phone:

Important Note:

If you deregister from ANZ Shield, you will still be protected by Challenge Questions. Your daily Pay Anyone limit will be reduced to the lowest limit that applies to you:

  • A Personal customer’s daily limit will reduce to $10,000
  • A Business customer’s daily limit will reduce to $25,000
  • An Internet Banking for Business customer’s daily limit will reduce to $5,000.

If you have any future or recurring Pay Anyone payments scheduled that rely on your higher daily limit, these must be maintained (reduced) or cancelled before you can deregister from ANZ Shield.

Change PIN

You're able to change your ANZ Shield app PIN at any time.
To change your PIN you must have access to your ANZ Shield phone and remember your current PIN. Don't remember your current PIN?

To change your PIN:

  1. Open the 'ANZ Shield' app on your phone.
  2. Tap the Menu icon and tap 'Change PIN'.
  3. Enter your current PIN.
  4. Create a new PIN.
    • Ensure you choose one that's easy to remember but doesn't compromise your account security.
    • You can't create a PIN that has three or more sequential numbers, three or more repeating numbers, or numbers that run in a straight line.
    • You must keep your PIN secure.
    • Avoid using your birth date, repetitive or sequential numbers or a recognisable part of your name as a PIN, otherwise you may be liable for any loss suffered from an unauthorised transaction.
  5. Confirm your PIN.

Your ANZ Shield PIN has now been changed.

Change Device

You're able to change the phone your ANZ Shield app is on at any time.

ANZ Shield is available for iPhones running iOS 8.0 or above and Android phones running Android  4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or above. You can only have ANZ Shield successfully registered on one phone at a time. We recommend that you install ANZ Shield on your primary phone.

If you have access to your phone:

  1. Select 'ANZ Shield' from the 'Profile' menu.
  2. Select 'Change Device' from the 'ANZ Shield Hub'.
  3. Follow the prompts to change your phone.

If you don't have access to your phone:

What happens when I get a new phone or tablet?

If you change your phone or tablet, you can transfer your ANZ Shield registration to your new phone or tablet via the 'ANZ Shield Hub'.

To access the 'ANZ Shield Hub':

  • Select 'ANZ Shield' from the 'Profile' menu in ANZ Internet Banking.
  • Don't have your registered phone or tablet available?

I no longer want to use ANZ Shield. Can I deregister?

You're able to deregister ANZ Shield at any time. ANZ Shield is an extra layer of security to your ANZ Internet Banking, so please consider if this is the appropriate action for you.

  • Select 'ANZ Shield' from the 'Profile' menu in ANZ Internet Banking.
  • Select 'Deregister' from the 'ANZ Shield Hub'.

My ANZ Shield app is registered and ANZ Internet Banking continues to present ‘Challenge Questions’. What do I do?
  1. Open the 'ANZ Shield' app on your phone.
  2. Enter your PIN to access the Menu.
  3. Tap the Menu icon and tap 'Reset app’.
  4. Start the ANZ Shield registration process in ANZ Internet Banking.
How do I cancel the deregistration process?

You're able to cancel deregistration by selecting the 'Cancel' button. If you do so after completing the 'Reset Application' step of the deregistration process, please contact us as your ANZ Shield app will no longer work.
