Your Pay Anyone payee list comprises the recipients you have saved while making Pay Anyone payments to them. If a recipient's details change you can easily edit them.

Step 1 - Navigate to "Manage payees"
  • Go to the "Profile” menu.
  • Select "Manage payees".
Step 2 - Make your updates and click "Save"
  • Select the payee you wish to edit
  • Enter the updated details
  • You can update the BSB number (financial institution number), account number, account name and payee nickname
  • When you are happy with your edits select "Save"
  • Once you edit the payee's details it will be updated immediately within the same ANZ Internet Banking session.
Why can't I edit my payee?

You cannot edit a payee if there is a future or recurring payment scheduled for that payee.

  • For example, if you have recurring payments scheduled for a payee, those payee details cannot be edited.
  • You must first cancel any scheduled payments to the payee.

If you wish to delete a future dated or recurring payment, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 11.59pm Melbourne time on the day prior to the payment date.

What information do I need about the payee to save them?

If you want to save a payee's details in your Pay Anyone payee list, you need their account details including BSB number (six digit number), account number and account name. You will also need to create a payee nickname to help you identify the payee for future transfers. 

What if the payee's details change?

If the payee's bank details change in future, you can edit the payee.

  • Go to the “Profile” menu
  • Select “Manage payees”
  • Select the payee you wish to edit
  • Update their details and select “Save”.
  • You can update the BSB number (financial institution number), account number, account name, and payee nickname.
  • Once you edit the payee's details it will be updated immediately within the same ANZ Internet Banking session.
Can I delete a payee?

Yes. You can delete a payee from the Pay Anyone payee list any time.

  • Go to the “Profile” menu
  • Select “Manage payees”
  • Select the payee you wish to delete
  • Select “Delete” icon
  • Select “Delete” to delete payee immediately 

Please note, you cannot delete a payee if there is a future or recurring payment scheduled for that payee. You must first cancel the pending future or recurring payments.

Does the payee need to have an ANZ account?

No. The payee does not need to have an ANZ account.

  • The Pay Anyone function within ANZ Internet Banking will allow you to transfer funds from your ANZ account to an account with any Australian financial institution (bank, building society, credit union, etc).
  • All you need is the BSB number, account number and account name of the payee.
Why won't it let me edit my payee?
