Delete a future payment

Using ANZ Internet Banking you can easily manage any future payments and transfers you have scheduled.

You can easily delete a future payment or transfer.

  • The request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking before 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day before the transfer or bill payment date.
  • For example if you have a bill to pay on Wednesday your request to delete or skip the bill payment must be submitted by 11.59pm on Tuesday.

Deleting a future payment/transfer is easy.

  • Go to the "Pay and transfer" menu.
  • Select "Future payments/transfers" and follow the steps below.

This will display your future payments summary.

Step 1 - Select the payment or transfer to be deleted
  • Select the payment/transfer you wish to delete, using the radio buttons under the "Select" column.
Step 2 - Click the "Immediately delete payment/transfer" link
  • This link is located under your future payment summary.
What happens next?
  • Your future payments summary will refresh and the payment or transfer you selected for deletion will have a "deleted" status.
  • The payment will continue to appear in your future payments summary until the payment due date when it will move to your past payments/transfers summary.
Important notes
  • Future-dated transfers require cleared funds in your account at 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day before the scheduled transfer date or your transfer will be unsuccessful.
  • All future-dated transfers will be processed by us on the morning of the date requested unless the payment date falls on a weekend or public holiday in which case the transfer will be processed on the next bank business day.
  • If you wish to delete or skip a transfer, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to payment.

Can I edit a future dated transfer?

No. You cannot edit a future dated transfer. However, you can delete the future payments, transfers or bill payments via the "Future payments/transfer" page by clicking on the "Immediately delete payment/transfer" link.

  • This will immediately delete the selected future dated payment.
  • The request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to payment.
  • Once deleted, you can then set up a new payment with the required changes.
Can I activate a payment/transfer with a status of "deleted"?

No. Any payment/transfer that has been deleted cannot be reactivated.

  • The deleted payment/transfer will be listed in the future payments/transfers page until the due date.
Can I edit or delete a transfer I've scheduled for today?

You cannot cancel or delete immediate transfers or a scheduled payment/transfer to be processed today.

  • Transfers must be deleted prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to the transfer date.
Can I edit a future dated transfer?

How can I skip a payment from a recurring sequence?

You can skip a future payment/transfer from a recurring sequence via the "Future payments/transfer" page. Simply click the "Skip/Un-skip next scheduled transfer" link.

  • This will skip the selected future dated payment.
  • You may click on the same link if you decide to un-skip the scheduled payment.
  • If you wish to skip a transfer, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to payment.
Can I sort the future payments or transfers by the due date?

No. Future payments/transfers can only be sorted by account number or payment/transfer type. When you link to sort, the page will refresh immediately showing the list of future payments and transfers sorted by accounts.

  • It will show all linked accounts regardless of whether there are any future payments/transfers scheduled for it.
  • It displays five accounts per page.
  • You can click on "Next 5 accounts" on the bottom right to check the future payment and transfers from other accounts.
  • Click on the "Sort by payment/transfer" link to go back to the default "Future payments/transfers" page.
Important notes
  • Future-dated transfers require cleared funds in your account at 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day before the scheduled transfer date.
  • All future-dated transfers will be processed by us on the morning of the date requested unless the payment date falls on a weekend or public holiday in which case the transfer will be processed on the next bank business day.
