Transfer between my accounts

ANZ Internet Banking allows you to transfer money between your ANZ accounts that you have linked to ANZ Internet Banking. 

Step 1 - Navigate to "Transfer between my accounts"
  • Select the "Payments" menu
  • Select "Transfer between my accounts".
Step 2 - Select an account to make your transfer from
  • Only accounts eligible to transfer funds will display
  • Select the account you wish to transfer to after doing the following:
    • looking through your accounts; or
    • filtering your accounts using the filter textbox (look for the magnifying glass).
      • Enter characters of your account’s BSB, Account number, Account name, Available funds or Current balance
      • To filter on Available funds or Current balance, be sure to include any commas. Eg. Type in 2,300 rather than 2300.
  • If you change your mind and want to select a different account, either:
    • Select the new account (if the view toggle is set to “Tile”);or
    • Select the dropdown and then select a new account (if the view toggle is set to “List”)
Step 3 - Select an account to transfer to
  • Only accounts eligible to receive funds will display
  • The account already selected in the previous step won't be selectable in this step
  • Select the account you wish to transfer to after doing the following:
    • looking through your accounts; or
    • filtering your accounts using the filter textbox (look for the magnifying glass).
      • Enter characters of your account’s BSB, Account number, Account name, Available funds or Current balance
      • To filter on Available funds or Current balance, be sure to include any commas. Eg. Type in 2,300 rather than 2300
  • If you change your mind and want to select a different account, either:
    • Select the new account (if the view toggle is set to “Tile”);or
    • Select the dropdown and then select a new account (if the view toggle is set to “List”)
Step 4 - Enter your transfer details

Enter the transfer details:

Amount: Enter the amount you wish to transfer.

Step 5 - Select your transfer schedule

Select your transfer schedule from the three "Make payment" options:

Option 1 - Create a one off transfer for today

  • Select the "Today" option (if not already selected)

Option 2 - Create a one-off transfer for a future date

  • Select the "Later" option
  • Enter or select a date for your transfer. The date must fall within the next 12 months.

Option 3 - Create a schedule of regular transfers

  • Select the "Recurring" option
  • Select the "Frequency" of your transfers. Either Daily, Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-annually or Annually.
  • Enter or select a start date. Your first transfer will be made on this date
  • Specify when you want the transfer schedule to end. The options are:
    • Never: The transfers will continue to be made until you delete the scheduled transfer(s). See Delete a future payment/transfer for more information.
    • After: Enter the number of transfers to be made
    • On:  Enter or select a date using the calendar icon. Transfers will continue until this date. This must be a date within the next 10 years.
  • Select "Continue" to proceed.
Step 6 - Review and confirm
  • Review all your information to ensure it is correct. If you notice mistakes, select "Back" and re-enter the correct details following steps 2-5.

  • When you're happy with the information entered select "Confirm". This will complete the transfer and a confirmation message will display.

    If you are an ANZ Internet Banking for Business Operator, you will instead select the "Request authorisation" button to submit the transfer to the relevant Authoriser for approval.

Step 7 - View your lodgement receipt
  • Your lodgement receipt is displayed to confirm that your transfer has been submitted successfully
  • The lodgement receipt doesn’t necessarily mean the transfer will be processed successfully as that is dependent on the details you have entered being accurate, and on funds being available for the transfer to occur on the set date(s)
  • Please make a note of the lodgement number and receipt number (if available) for your own records.
Important notes
  • When you request future dated or recurring transfers please remember that cleared funds must be available in your account at 11.59pm Melbourne time on the day before the scheduled transfer
  • Transfers from your ANZ Credit Card will be treated as a cash advance, a fee may be charged and interest will accrue accordingly.
  • Withdrawals from an ANZ Share Investing account are not available via ANZ Internet Banking. Why can't I transfer from my linked ANZ Share Investing account?

Why aren't all my accounts displayed when I want to make a transfer?

Only valid linked accounts with appropriate access levels display when you are transferring between your accounts.

For example, you cannot transfer funds from most home loans; however you can transfer funds to most home loans. Therefore, your home loan account will only be displayed in the “Select an account to make your transfer to" section.

Do I need to link an account before I can use it to transact online?

Yes. The account needs to be linked to your ANZ Internet Banking before you can use it to transact online. You can link an account to your ANZ Internet Banking in one of three ways:

  • Use the link my accounts function in ANZ Internet Banking - this will take 24-48 hours
  • Contact the ANZ Internet Banking Helpdesk on 13 33 50 (International callers: +61 3 9683 8833) 24 hours a day, seven days a week - this provides immediate access
  • Visit your nearest ANZ branch - this provides immediate access.

What's the maximum I can transfer between my accounts?

There is no maximum or minimum limit when transferring funds between your linked accounts. You can transfer any available funds between accounts.

Can I make multiple transfers between my accounts?

You can create a mix of multiple payments and transfers between your accounts via the Schedule multiple payments/transfers function.

Alternatively, if you're an ANZ business customer, you have another option:

How long does it take for the transfer to go through?

The funds are available immediately after processing.

  • Transfers with transfer schedule set to "Today" will be processed to your account on the same day, provided they are made before 10pm Melbourne time Monday to Friday (excluding national public holidays)
  • Any transfer made after 10pm may be processed on the following bank business day
  • All future-dated transfers will be processed by us on the morning of the date requested unless the transfer date falls on a weekend or public holiday, in which case the transfer will be processed on the next bank business day.
Can I future date a transfer between my accounts?

Yes, you can easily schedule your transfer for a future date by choosing the appropriate option as outlined in Step 5 - Select your transfer schedule.

Can I use transfer between my accounts to pay my ANZ Credit Card?

Yes. "Transfer between my ANZ accounts" can be used to make a one-off transfer to your linked ANZ Credit Card or to set up a recurring transfer of the same amount to your linked ANZ Credit Card.

You may also use the "Pay ANZ Credit Card" to arrange regular transfers to your ANZ Credit Card on the due date, or at regular intervals from one of your linked accounts.

Can I use the transfer between my accounts function to make direct loan payments?

This function can only be used to make a one-off payment to your loan, but for regular direct loan payments, you'll need to add a direct loan payment.

Note: If you choose to make additional payments on a fixed rate loan you may be liable to pay an early repayment cost.

Why can't I transfer from my linked ANZ Share Investing account?

As part of the terms and conditions of an ANZ Share Investing account, you are unable to transfer funds from this account using ANZ Internet Banking.  However, you may transfer funds from another linked ANZ account into your ANZ Share Investing Account via ANZ Internet Banking.

Where can I see transfers I've made in the past?
Can I schedule future dated transfers?

Yes. You can easily schedule your transfer for a future date by choosing the appropriate option as outlined in Step 5 - Select your transfer schedule.

Where can I see transfers I've scheduled for future dates?
I need to delete a future dated transfer - how can I do this?
