Getting started

What transactions can I perform on ANZ Internet Banking?

ANZ Internet Banking allows you to manage your everyday banking 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can make a range of payments and transfers online.

  • Pay Anyone: transfer money to any Australian Financial Institution (bank, building society, credit union).
  • Pay BPAY® bills: pay your bills online via BPAY®. Make one-off payments or schedule recurring payments.
  • Pay ANZ Credit Card: pay your ANZ Credit Card online. Make one-off payment or schedule minimum monthly, set monthly or full closing balance payments.
  • Transfer between my accounts: transfer your money between your linked ANZ accounts.
  • View online bills: view and file your bills online using BPAY View™.
  • Schedule multiple payments/transfers: schedule multiple future dated payments or transfers.
  • Future payments/transfers: view all your scheduled future dated payments and transfers.
  • Past payments/transfers: view your previous payments and transfers made via ANZ Internet Banking.
  • International services: transfer money overseas, buy travellers cheques, foreign currency or international drafts.
Do I need to register to make certain transactions online?

You need to register for certain facilities while others are activated automatically when you register for ANZ Internet Banking.

  • BPAY® payment: this facility is activated by default when you register for ANZ Internet Banking.
  • Transfer between accounts: you need to have two or more accounts linked to your ANZ Internet Banking to transfer funds.
  • Pay Anyone payment: you need to register for Pay Anyone and activate your daily Pay Anyone limit to transfer to any Australian Financial Institution (bank, building society, credit union).
  • International services: you need to Register for international services before you can use it. Your daily Pay Anyone limit applies.
Do I need to link an account before I can use it to transact online?

Yes. You can link your accounts to ANZ Internet Banking in one of three ways:

  • Use the link my accounts facility on ANZ Internet Banking - this will take 24-48 hours.
  • Contact the ANZ Internet Banking team on 13 33 50 (International callers: +61 3 9683 8833) 24 hours a day, seven days a week - this will be immediate.
  • Visit your nearest ANZ branch - this will be immediate.

If you are an ANZ Internet Banking for Business customer, please download, print, complete and fax the maintenance form to request an account be linked.

V2 Plus customers: call the V2 Plus team on 13 28 33 between 8.00am and 8.00pm (AEST) Monday to Friday to get your V2 Plus accounts linked to your CRN.

How do I receive bills online?

You can receive and view your bills online via the "View online bills" facility located in the "Pay and Transfer" menu. Here you can view a summary of your bills, view details of your bill in full, manage your bills and pay your bills.

Making payments/transfers

How do I transfer funds overseas?

You can transfer funds overseas via the "International services" facility located in the "Pay and Transfer" menu. You'll need to have registered for Pay Anyone and your daily Pay Anyone limit will apply. You can transfer fund overseas via an international money transfer or an international draft.

Can I pay my bills online?

Yes. You can pay your bills online via the "Pay BPAY® Bills" facility located in the "Pay and Transfer" menu. This service is activated by default when you register for ANZ Internet Banking. 

Can I transfer funds to a third party using ANZ Internet Banking?

Yes. The "Pay Anyone" facility under the "Pay and Transfer" menu allows you to transfer funds to any Australian financial institution (bank, building society, credit unions) account.

Please note that you cannot transfer funds to a credit card account using Pay Anyone.

Where can I see payments or transfers I've made in the past?

In the "Past Payments/ Transfers" facility located in the "Pay and Transfer" menu. This allows you to view and search your past ANZ Internet Banking payments and transfers, using the following criteria:

  • the account from which the payment or transfer was made (including closed accounts or accounts that have been de-linked from your CRN)
  • date range
  • transfer or payment type.

You can view details of your payments and transfers for the last 120 days via ANZ Internet Banking.

For transactions prior to the last 120 days:

  • please refer to your account statement or
  • call the ANZ Customer Service team on 13 13 14 (International callers: +61 3 9683 9999) 24 hours a day, seven days a week to order a copy of your statement.

Future payments/transfers

Can I schedule future dated payments?

Yes. You can schedule future dated transfers or bill payments via the "Schedule Multiple Future Payments/Transfers" facility located in the "Pay and Transfer" menu. This page allows you to lodge up to ten payments which can be a combination of funds transfers, Pay Anyone transfers and BPAY® bill payments.

Where can I see payments I've scheduled for future dates?

The "Future Payments/Transfer" facility located in the "Pay and Transfer" menu provides you with a summary of the transfers or bill payments you have scheduled via ANZ Internet Banking to be processed on a future date.

I need to delete a future dated transaction: how can I do this?

You can delete future payments, transfers or bill payments via the "Future Payments/Transfer" page by clicking the "Immediately Delete Payment/Transfer" link.

  • This will immediately delete the selected future dated payment.
  • However, it will remain on this page with a status of deleted until the due date.
  • If you wish to delete a transfer, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to payment.
Can I edit or delete a transfer I've schedule for today?

You cannot cancel or delete immediate transfers or a scheduled payment/transfer to be processed today. Transfers must be deleted prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to the transfer date.

How can I skip a payment from a recurring sequence?

You can skip a future payment, transfer or bill payment from a recurring sequence via the "Future Payments/Transfer" page by clicking the "Skip/Unskip next Scheduled Transfer" link.

  • This will skip the selected future dated payment.
  • You may click on the same link if you decide to un-skip the scheduled payment.
  • If you wish to skip a transfer, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to payment.
Can I edit a future dated transfer?

No. You cannot edit a future dated transfer. However, you can delete the future payments, transfers or bill payments via the "Future Payments/Transfer" page by clicking the "Immediately Delete Payment/Transfer" link.

  • This will immediately delete the selected future dated payment.
  • The request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to payment.
  • Once deleted, you can then set up a new payment with the required changes.

Miscellaneous

How long does it take for the recipient to receive my funds?

Transfers to third party ANZ accounts are processed overnight and available the following bank business day.

  • If the payment is made to an account held with another financial institution, the funds will be debited from your account immediately but the time it takes for these funds to be credited into the payee's account will depend on the policy and system of the payee's bank.
How do I know if my payments are successful?

Whenever you confirm a payment/transfer you'll see a lodgement number and a receipt number. The receipt number confirms that the payment has been submitted successfully.

For scheduled payments, you can check the status and the receipt number via the "Past Payments/Transfers" page. For unsuccessful payments, the status will show as failed. You can also check the details of the payment to find the reason the payment failed.

Are there fees for transferring funds?

There is no fee/charge for Pay Anyone, transfer between accounts and BPAY® payments.

  • If you use all of your free withdrawals from your accounts for any given month, normal excess transaction fees and government charges may apply.
  • There is a $24.00 fee per transaction for transferring funds overseas via ANZ Internet Banking.
  • There is a $25.00 fee for the purchase of international drafts.
I have a query about a transaction I've made online - what can I do?

You can check the details of the payment that you have made online via the "Past Payments/Transfers" facility in the "Pay and transfer" menu.

  • This page shows you the list of transactions that you have made online.
  • You can then click the "View details" link after selecting a particular payment that you want to query.
  • You can also contact the ANZ Internet Banking team on 13 33 50 (International callers: +61 3 9683 8833) 24 hours a day, seven days a week for further information.
  • Alternatively, you may send us an enquiry about a particular transaction, using the SecureMail menu.
  • If you think an unauthorised payment has been made in your ANZ Internet Banking please contact the ANZ Internet Banking team immediately on 13 33 50 (International callers: +61 3 9683 8833) 24 hours a day, seven days a week to report the fraudulent transaction.
I've entered the wrong account details when transferring money - what can I do?

Once the payment is confirmed and is processed via ANZ Internet Banking, the payment cannot be deleted or cancelled. 

  • You may request a Pay Anyone dispute it via the the SecureMail menu. Please be advised that it may take up to 6-8 weeks for the resolution of any Pay Anyone dispute.
  • Alternatively you can contact the ANZ Internet Banking team on 13 33 50 (International callers: +61 3 9683 8833) 24 hours a day, seven days a week to lodge your Pay Anyone dispute.
Important notes
  • The time it takes for a transfer to be processed to your account will depend on the type of transfer. Check your Electronic Banking Conditions of Use for details. 
  • The time it takes for the payee's account to be credited will depend on the policy and systems of the payee's bank.
  • If your enquiry relates to a transfer with a "Status unknown" message, please call the ANZ Internet Banking team on 13 33 50 (International callers dial + 61 3 9683 8833), 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • All immediate funds transfers between your linked accounts completed after 10.00pm (AEST) or on weekends or public holidays, are processed on the following bank business day.
  • All Pay Anyone transfers and BPAY® payments requested after 6.00pm (AEST) or on weekends or a public holiday are processed to your account on the following bank business day.
  • Future dated transfers require cleared funds in your account at 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day before the scheduled transfer date.
  • All future dated transfers will be processed by us on the morning of the date requested unless the payment date falls on a weekend or public holiday in which case the transfer will be processed on the next bank business day.
  • If you wish to delete or skip a transfer, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to payment.
  • Transfers from an ANZ Credit Card may be treated as a cash advance.
