Managing Operators is an effective way for ANZ Internet Banking for Business Administrators to monitor user activity and control Operator access.

  • A new Operator will automatically have a "Locked" status - this means that they cannot access ANZ Internet Banking.
  • You can easily un-lock an Operator to allow them access.

ANZ Internet Banking for Business Administrators can add and manage Operators online. To lock or un-lock an Operator:

  • Go to the "Manage Operators" menu.
  • Select the Operator you'd like to edit, using the radio buttons under the "Select" column.
  • Click either the "Lock Operator" or the "Unlock Operator" link, as appropriate and follow the steps below.
Before you lock/un-lock the Operator
  • Check the status of the Operator to see whether it is "Locked" or "Active".
Step 1 - Confirm the change in status

Once you have selected the Operator and clicked the relevant link you'll be asked to confirm your request.

  • Click on the "OK" button to lock or unlock the Operator.
  • Otherwise click on the "Cancel" button if you decide not to lock/unlock the Operator.

Once confirmed the status for the Operator will immediately update to either "Active" or "Locked".

  • Active: the Operator will be able to log on and transact on ANZ Internet Banking for Business.
  • Locked: the Operator will not be able to log on to ANZ Internet Banking for Business until the Administrator unlocks them.

The Administrator has set up an Operator, but the Operator can't log on. Why?

When Operators are created, their status is always "Locked".

  • The Administrator must unlock the Operator before they attempt to log on to their ANZ Internet Banking for Business.

For general enquiries Operators can call the ANZ Internet Banking for Business team on 1800 269 242 (International callers: +61 3 8699 6906), between 8.00am and 8.00pm (AEST), Monday to Friday.

  • Since Operators are usually not signatories on the accounts, we will not be able to give them any account information.

As an Operator, if you need any support regarding:

  • the ANZ Internet Banking for Business functionality please refer to the ANZ Internet Banking for Business demo and user guide on the ANZ website.
  • for password reset or unlocking your CRN, etc please contact your Administrator.
What information do Operators need to log on?

The Operators need the following information to log on to ANZ Internet Banking for Business:

  • the master CRN or Business Registration Number provided by the Administrator,
  • the unique password provided by the Administrator, which they must change on their first log on,
  • the Operator ID as created by the Administrator.

Please notes that all Operators accessing ANZ Internet Banking for Business for the same business will use the same CRN with their unique password and Operator IDs.

Are there any restrictions on what the Operator password must be?

The Operator password should be:

  • 8-16 characters long
  • a combination of numbers and letters
  • at least one number and at least one letter
  • must not contain spaces or special characters
  • is case sensitive.

There is no system requirement to change password apart from the first time the Operator logs on.

  • At that time, the Operator is forced to change the password given to them by the Administrator.
What if I delete or lock an Operator while they're logged on?

If you delete or lock an Operator while they are still logged on to ANZ Internet Banking for Business, the changes will take effect immediately.

  • This will terminate the ANZ Internet Banking session for the Operators immediately.
Can the ANZ Internet Banking for Business team lock or unlock the Operators?

No. ANZ Internet Banking for Business team cannot lock or unlock the Operators.

I am an Administrator. Why can't I un-suspend the Operator?

The Operator cannot be un-suspended if they have not been allowed access to any of the linked business accounts.

  • This means that if the "None" access type is selected the Operator cannot be un-suspended as they do not have valid account access.
Why does the Operator's status change to "Locked"?

The Operator's profile can be "Locked" in two ways:

  • If the new Operator was created, the status always defaults to "Locked" for security reasons. The Administrator must unlock the Operator before they attempt to log on.
  • The Administrator can manually switch off the Operator's access to ANZ Internet Banking by locking it out due to various reasons, e.g. fraud, security reasons, etc.
