If you are having issues accessing ANZ Internet Banking there are a number of things you can do to make your web browser more compatible.

Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that changing these settings will not affect any other software or functions on your computer.

Internet Explorer

Settings may differ across browser versions and operating system versions, so if these instructions don’t match what you see on your screen, we recommend you consult your browser help.

To access your browser help, open your browser and press the F1 key on your keyboard. 

Note to Internet Explorer 10 users: For your best experience on ANZ.com, we recommend that you use the full version of Internet Explorer, rather than the Metro version initiated from the tile on the Start screen. Step 1 – Open the Internet Options window
  • Select Tools from the browser menu bar and then select Options from the drop down menu.
    If the browser toolbar isn't visible, press the Alt key on your keyboard to display it.
  • The Internet Options window opens.
Step 2 – Clear temporary internet browser data
  • At the top of the Internet Options window, select the General tab.
  • Under the Browsing history heading, click on the Delete button.
  • The Delete Browsing History window opens.
  • Ensure Temporary Internet files is ticked, and click on the Delete button.
  • Internet Explorer will delete your temporary internet files and close the Delete Browsing History window.
Step 3 – Enable JavaScript and adjust security settings
  • At the top of the Internet Options window, select the Security tab.
  • Click on the Custom level button.
  • The Security Settings – Internet Zone window opens.
  • Scroll down to the Java VM section. (Some recent browser versions may not have this section.)
  • Ensure Medium safety is selected. (Some recent browser versions may not have this setting.)
  • Scroll down to the Miscellaneous section
  • Scroll down to Navigate windows and frames across different domains
  • Ensure Enable is selected.
  • Scroll down to the Scripting section
  • Scroll down to Active Scripting
  • Ensure Enable is selected.
  • Click on the OK button in the Security Settings – Internet Zone window.
Step 4 – Enable cookies for ANZ.com
  • At the top of the Internet Options window, select the Privacy tab.
  • Under the Settings heading, click on the Sites button.
  • The Per Site Privacy Actions window opens.
  • Type anz.com into the space provided.
  • Click on the Allow button.
  • Click on the OK button on the Per Site Privacy Actions window.
Step 5 – Enable pop ups for ANZ.com
  • At the top of the Internet Options window, select the Privacy tab.
  • Under the Pop-up Blocker heading, click on the Settings button.
  • The Pop-up Blocker Settings window opens.
  • Type www.anz.com into the space provided.
  • Click on the Add button.
  • Type anz.com and click Add again.
  • Type salmat.bpayview.com.au and click Add again.
  • The addresses will appear in the Allowed sites list.
  • Click on the Close button.
Step 6 – Adjust SSL and other security settings
  • At the top of the Internet Options window, select the Advanced tab.
  • Scroll down to the Security section.
  • Ensure that the following options are ticked:
    • Use SSL 2.0
    • Use SSL 3.0
    • Use TLS 1.0
    • Use TLS 1.1 (Some older browser versions may not have this setting.)
    • Use TLS 1.2 (Some older browser versions may not have this setting.)
  • Click on the Apply button.
Step 7 – Close the Internet Options window
  • In the Internet Options window, click on the OK button.
Step 8 – Apply browser settings changes
  • Close all Internet Explorer windows.
  • Restart Internet Explorer.
Firefox for Windows

Settings may differ across browser versions and operating system versions, so if these instructions don’t match what you see on your screen, we recommend you consult your browser help.

To access your browser help, from the browser menu bar, select Help, then from the drop-down menu choose Firefox Help.

Step 1 – Open the Options window
  • From the browser menu bar, select Tools, then from the drop-down menu choose Options.
Step 2 – Enable pop ups for ANZ.com
  • In the Options window, click on Content.
  • Beside Block popup windows, click on the Exceptions button.
  • The Allowed Sites – Pop-ups window opens.
  • In the Address of web site space, type www.anz.com
  • Click on the Allow button.
  • Click on the Close button.
Step 3 – Enable JavaScript
  • In the Options window, click on Content.
  • Ensure that Enable JavaScript is ticked.
Step 4 – Enable cookies for ANZ.com
  • In the Options window, click on Privacy.
  • Beside Accept cookies from sites, click on the Exceptions button
  • In the Address of web site space, type anz.com
  • Click on the Allow button.
  • Click on the Close button.
Step 5 – Adjust SSL and other security settings
  • In the Options window, click on Advanced.
  • Click on the Encryption tab.
  • In the Protocols section, ensure that the following options are ticked:
    • Use SSL 3.0
    • Use TLS 1.0
Step 6 – Close the Options window
  • Click on the OK button.
Step 7 – Clear temporary internet browser data
  • From the browser menu bar, select Tools, then from the drop-down menu choose Clear Recent History.
Step 8 – Apply changes
  • Close all Firefox windows.
  • Restart Firefox.
Firefox for Mac OSX

Step 1 – Open the Preferences window

  • Open the Preferences window.
  • Click on Content.
  • Beside Block pop-up windows, click on the Exception button.

  • Click on the red close button at the top left-hand side of the Allowed Sites – Pop-ups window.
Step 3 – Enable JavaScript
  • Open the Preferences window.
  • Click on Content.
  • Ensure that Enable JavaScript is ticked.
Step 4 – Clear temporary internet browser data
  • Open the Preferences window.
  • Click on Privacy.
  • In the History section, ensure Firefox will is set to Remember history. (Note that this not the final history setting. Once you have cleared the temporary data, you need to follow the instructions on enabling cookies for the final history setting.)
  • Click on clear your recent history.
Step 5 – Enable cookies for ANZ.com
  • Open the Preferences window.
  • Click on Privacy.
  • In the History section, ensure Firefox will is set to Use custom settings for history.
  • Beside Accept cookies from sites, click on the Exceptions button.
  • The Exceptions - Cookies window opens.
  • In Address of website, type anz.com
  • Click on the Allow button.
  • Click on the red close button at the top left-hand side of the Exceptions - Cookies window.
Step 6 – Adjust SSL and other security settings
  • Open the Preferences window.
  • Click on Advanced.
  • Ensure the following options are ticked:
    • Use SSL 3.0
    • Use TLS 1.0
Step 7 – Close the Preferences window
  • Click on the red close button at the top left-hand side of the Preferences window.
Step 8 – Apply settings
  • On the menu bar, select Firefox then choose Quit Firefox from the drop-down menu.
  • Restart Firefox.
Google Chrome for Windows

Settings may differ across browser versions and operating system versions, so if these instructions don’t match what you see on your screen, we recommend you consult your browser help.

To access your browser help, open the Settings window by clicking on the Chrome menu icon (menu) icon, then click on Show advanced settings. In the Chrome section, scroll down to the bottom and click on Help. When the About window opens, click on Get help with using Chrome.

  • Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
  • The Settings window appears.

Step 3 - Enable JavaScript

  • Ensure Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended) is selected.
  • Click on the X in the top right-hand corner of the Content Settings window.
  • The Settings window reappears.

  • The Content Settings window reappears.
  • Click on the X in the top right-hand corner of the Content Settings window.
  • The Settings window reappears.
Step 5 - Clear temporary internet browser data

  • The Clear Browsing Data window appears.
  • Set Obliterate the following items from to the beginning of time.
  • Ensure Empty the cache is ticked.

Step 6 - Adjust SSL and other security settings

  • Ensure that Check for server certificate revocation is ticked.
Step 7 - Apply changes
  • Close all Google Chrome windows.
  • Restart Google Chrome.
Google Chrome for Mac OSX

To access your browser help, from the menu bar, select Chrome and then choose About Chrome from the drop-down menu. When the About Chrome window opens, click on the Get help with using Chrome button.

Step 1 - Clear temporary internet browser data
  • At the right-hand side of the browser window, click on the Safari gear icon (gear) icon and then choose Reset Safari from the drop-down menu.
  • A confirmation window appears.
  • Ensure Remove all website data is ticked. You may wish to ensure all the other options are not ticked.
  • Click on the Reset button.
Step 2 - Open the Preferences window
  • At the right-hand side of the browser window, click on the Safari gear icon (gear) icon and then choose Preferences from the drop-down menu.
  • The Preferences window appears.
Step 3 - Enable pop-ups and JavaScript
  • In the Preferences window click on Security.
  • Ensure Enable JavaScript is ticked.
  • Ensure Block pop-up windows is not ticked.
Step 4 - Enable cookies for ANZ.com
  • In the Preferences window click on Privacy.
  • In the Block cookies section, ensure From third parties and advertisers is selected.
Step 5 - Close Preferences
  • Click on the X button at the top right-hand side of the window.
Step 6 - Apply changes
  • Close all Safari windows.
  • Restart Safari.

I've forgotten my ANZ Internet Banking password - what can I do?

If you have forgotten your ANZ Internet Banking password and/or have tried to log on to ANZ Internet Banking with an incorrect password, your ANZ Internet Banking will be suspended after three incorrect attempts.

  • Please contact the ANZ Internet Banking team on 13 33 50 (International callers: +61 3 9683 8833) 24 hours a day, seven days a week to reset your password.
  • ANZ Internet Banking for Business customers, please contact the ANZ Internet Banking for Business team on 1800 269 242 (International callers: +61 3 8699 6906) between 8.00am to 8.00pm (AEST), Monday to Friday to reset your password.

An ANZ Customer Service Consultant will provide you a temporary password, which you'll need to change on your first log on.
If you are an ANZ Internet Banking for Business Operator you must contact your Administrator to reset your password.

Why can't I log on to ANZ Internet Banking?
There can be many reasons for not being able to log on to ANZ Internet Banking.
CRN and password issues
  • Incorrect CRN or password: you'll need to have your CRN confirmed or your password reset.
  • CRN suspended: after three unsuccessful log on attempts, your CRN will be suspended. You will not be able to log on to ANZ Internet Banking until the CRN is un-suspended or password is reset.
  • Your CRN is locked: your CRN may be locked for such reasons as unauthorised use or other security issues. ANZ will lock your CRN upon your request if you suspect security issues with your computer. ANZ will also lock your CRN if there has been a suspected fraudulent transaction using your ANZ Internet Banking CRN or a related CRN.

Security and general access issues
  • Always ensure you are accessing the correct website. Always start by entering the address www.anz.com into the address bar.
  • There may be issues with your browser settings or operating system.
  • Pop-up windows may be blocked.
  • The overnight processing at ANZ takes place from approximately 9.30pm to 4.00am (AEST) Monday to Friday. During this time you may have limited access to your accounts within ANZ Internet Banking.
  • The ANZ website is regularly maintained for housekeeping purposes on Sunday mornings, between 1.00am and 4.00am (AEST), which may cause interruptions to your ANZ Internet Banking. This timeframe is chosen as there is minimal customer usage of the site during this time.
  • From time to time, ANZ Internet Banking technicians need to perform additional maintenance on the system. This is normally scheduled for the weekends and a notification message is provided to ANZ Internet Banking customers on the day of the scheduled outage.

Is my pop-up blocker affecting ANZ Internet Banking?

ANZ Internet Banking uses pop-up windows for some of its functions such as logging on, online statements and view online bills. For this reason we recommend that you allow all pop-ups and advertisements to appear on www.anz.com, or disable the pop-up blocker for the duration of your ANZ Internet Banking session.

  • You may temporarily disable most pop-up blockers by holding onto the CTRL button while clicking on the link.
