Make a loan closure request

You can request to close your ANZ loan online at any time. This can be done via a SecureMail, which an ANZ Customer Service Consultant will respond to within 24-48 hours.

  • The amount required to pay out your loan may change according to the date on which it is paid. A revised pay-out figure should be obtained on that day.
  • An early repayment cost which is included in the pay out figure may change if interest rates change after the time this pay out figure is obtained.
  • If your loan is secured, government and bank fees and charges may apply when the security is discharged. These exit costs are not factored into this pay-out figure quotation.

To make a loan closure request:

  • Go to the "View Accounts" page.
  • This is the first page you see when you log on to ANZ Internet Banking.
  • If you cannot locate it, select "View Accounts" from the "Accounts" menu.
  • Select your loan account by clicking on the account name.
  • Click the "Loan closure request" link.
Step 1 - Read and accept the important information

Read the important information on the "Loan closure request" page.

  • Click "Continue" if you are happy with the information you've read.
Step 2 - Fill in the required information

Fill in all the requested information on the "Loan closure request" page.

  • Loan account details:
    • Account: select the loan account for which you want a pay-out figure, using the drop down list, or
    • Account number: directly enter the loan account number
    • Loan type: select the type of loan from the drop down list.
  • Request details:
    • Reason for request: select a reason for requesting loan account closure by clicking on a circle in front of one of the reasons from the available list.
    • Request: type in your message.
  • Your contact details: supply your contact phone number and the most convenient time to contact you in case ANZ needs to contact you regarding your enquiry.
  • Click "Submit" button on the bottom right to proceed with your request.
Step 3 - View your loan closure request confirmation
  • The "Loan closure request - confirmation" page will display confirming that a SecureMail has been sent to the ANZ on your behalf requesting the pay-out figure.
  • An ANZ Customer Service Consultant will respond to your enquiry within two bank business days.

What information do I need to request a loan closure?

You will need the loan account number to request a closure of that loan.

  • You may also select the correct account from the drop down list to request a closure.
Does a loan closure request automatically close my loan account?

If I request a loan closure will this automatically close my Breakfree package?

No. The loan closure request will only supply you with the pay-out figure on a particular loan account via a SecureMail.

  • You may cancel your ANZ Breakfree package by calling the ANZ Breakfree team directly on 13 33 12 between 8.00am and 8.00pm (AEST), Monday to Friday.
  • You will also be asked to fax us your details at least seven days before you need the cancellation to take effect.
