Activate an ANZ Card

The "Activate an ANZ Card" function allows you to activate the following card types:

  • ANZ Access Card
  • ANZ Access Visa Debit Card
  • ANZ Everyday Visa Debit Card
  • All ANZ Credit Cards.

For new account holders who activate using "Activate an ANZ Card" function, we will also ensure your card is automatically linked to your Customer Registration Number (CRN) upon completion of activation so that you can view it on Internet Banking and goMoney™.

Note: ANZ Internet Banking Card Activation does not activate ANZ Business One credit cards or ANZ Corporate, Purchasing and Salary Packaging cards.

To activate your card(s):

  • Hover over the "Apply For" menu and select "Credit Cards"
  • Under the "Credit card services" section, select "Activate an ANZ Card"
  • Follow the steps below.
Step 1 –  View overview page details
  • Read the information on this page to ensure you are ready to activate your card
  • Click "Continue".
Step 2 – Enter your card number
  • Enter your 15 or 16 digit card number
  • If you are a primary cardholder and you also wish to activate the cards of your additional cardholders, select "Activate any additional cards".
Step 3 – Activate your card(s)
  • Click "Submit"
  • If your card is new or is a replacement for a lost/stolen card, please select the checkbox to confirm your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and click "Activate".

Before activating my ANZ Card

If you're a Primary Cardholder on an ANZ Credit Card account, you'll firstly need to acknowledge that you've received, read and accepted the Letter of Offer and the ANZ Credit Card Conditions of Use before activation can be completed. And, by activating your ANZ Card, you accept any Terms and Conditions related to your ANZ Account.

If you're an Additional cardholder on an ANZ credit card account, you must ensure the Primary cardholder has activated their card before you can activate yours. However, if the card is simply a replacement, you can activate it straight away.

What happens now?

Once activated, your card must be signed and the sticker removed on the front before first use.

  • If you've applied for a Balance Transfer to your new ANZ Credit Card, it will be processed within 48 business hours.
  • If activating a new ANZ Card (including cards issued after reporting a card lost or stolen), a PIN mailer will arrive in up to 48 business hours.
  • If you've activated a replacement card, your existing PIN will remain unchanged.
  • You can change your PIN anytime at an ANZ ATM.
  • For new card account holders who activate using "Activate an ANZ Card", we will also ensure your card is automatically linked to your Customer Registration Number (CRN) upon completion of your card activation so that you can view it on Internet Banking and goMoney™.
What if I have my ANZ credit card but haven't received my Letter of Offer and ANZ Credit Card Conditions of Use?

If you haven't received your Letter of Offer or ANZ Credit Card Conditions of Use, please call ANZ Cards on 13 22 73.

I don't want to see my account on Internet Banking/goMoney™. What can I do?

To have your card removed from your Customer Registration Number, simply follow the Delink a personal account instructions. 

My account wasn't linked to my Internet Banking/goMoney™ Customer Registration Number, how else can I have my card linked?

To have your newly activated account linked, please call us on 13 33 50. We're available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If I am a primary cardholder and have activated additional card holder cards, will the additional cardholder have their card(s) linked to their Customer Registration Number?

No. Please please ask any additional cardholders to call us on 13 33 50 so that we can link their card to their ANZ Internet Banking Customer Registration Number. We're available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

I am an additional cardholder on an ANZ credit card account. Can I activate all cards on the account?

No, only the Primary Cardholder can activate all cards on an account; this only applies to ANZ credit cards.

Can I activate my ANZ Business One credit card or ANZ Corporate, Purchasing or Salary Packaging card using ANZ's Activate an ANZ card?

ANZ Internet Banking Card Activation only allows the following products to be activated:

  • ANZ Access Card
  • ANZ Access Visa Debit Card
  • ANZ Everyday Visa Debit Card
  • All ANZ Credit Cards.

To activate your ANZ Business or ANZ Commercial Card, please use the instructions attached to the card.

ANZ's Activate an ANZ card didn't work for me, how else can I activate my card?

You can activate your ANZ Card using our Phone Banking services:

  • ANZ Personal Credit Card, Everyday Visa Debit Card and ANZ Business Visa Debit Card – 1800 652 033 (International callers dial +61 3 8699 6996)
  • ANZ Access Card and ANZ Access Visa Debit Card – 1800 063 260.
