Activate bank feeds to Xero

Xero is an easy to use online accounting system designed for small businesses. If you are a Xero user you can easily activate Xero bank feeds from within ANZ Internet Banking.

  • Once the bank feeds are successfully activated, you'll receive convenient daily transaction updates for your chosen ANZ business accounts direct to your Xero accounting software.

Business customers can easily activate bank feeds to Xero using ANZ Internet Banking.

  • Go to the "View Accounts" landing page.
  • This is the first page you see when you log on to ANZ Internet Banking.
  • If you cannot locate it go to the "Accounts" menu and select "View Accounts".
  • Then click on the "Activate bank feeds to Xero" link and follow the steps below.

Alternatively you can:

  • Go to the "Update details" menu.
  • Go to the "Internet Banking Settings" section.
  • Click the "Activate bank feeds to Xero" link and follow the steps below.
Before activating bank feeds to Xero
  • Please note that you need to have registered for Xero in order to successfully activate bank feeds.
  • You'll also need to know the organisation name, which you've set up for your business within Xero.
Step 1 - Enter your organisation name

Your organisation name is the name you've given to your business within Xero.

  • If you do not know the organisation name please contact Xero.
Step 2 - Read and accept the terms and conditions
  • Click the "ANZ Authority to Disclose Information" link.
  • Read the terms and conditions and acknowledge that you accept them by checking the box.
Step 3 - Select your account(s)
  • Select the accounts, for which you'd like to activate bank feeds to Xero, using the checkboxes under the "Select" column.
Step 4 - Submit your request
  • If you are happy with the organisation name entered and the accounts selected, click "Send request".
  • If you'd prefer not to proceed, click "Cancel".
Step 5 - View your acknowledgment message
  • A message will display acknowledging that the request to activate bank feeds to Xero has been submitted.
What happens next?
  • Xero will process your request within approximately ten bank business days.
  • After this time you should receive the bank feeds to your Xero accounting system.

Why aren't all my accounts listed?
  • Not all accounts are eligible for Xero bank feeds. At the moment only transaction accounts are eligible.
How long does the activation process take?
  • The bank feeds should begin within approximately two business days of your application.
  • If the ANZ account information does not appear in Xero within 3 days, contact Xero directly.
Is the data feed automatic after activation?
  • Yes. It will continue until you de-activate it.
Who do I contact for help?
  • If your information does not appear in Xero within three business days of your application, please contact Xero.
How do I deactivate the service?
  • You can deactivate the service by contacting Xero directly to obtain a deactivation form.
What does it cost?
  • There is no cost for Xero bank feeds.
When will the feeds be sent?
  • Each morning your ANZ account information will be sent to Xero with the details of the transactions and balances for those ANZ accounts carried out on the previous day.
What is my organisation name and why do I need it?

Your organisation name is the name you've assigned your business within Xero.

  • Xero use this to help match your data to your account.
How will I be notified when the ANZ account information is available in Xero?
  • Xero will notify you by email when your ANZ account information is available.
