Edit a BPAY biller

Editing a BPAY® biller from your list is easy.

  • Go to the "Pay and transfer" menu.
  • Select "Pay BPAY® bills".
  • Click on the "Edit BPAY® biller list" link and follow the steps below.

Alternatively you can:

  • Go to the "Update details" menu.
  • Select "My BPAY® biller list" and follow the steps below.
Step 1 - Click the "Edit biller" link

Select the relevant biller using the radio button under the "Select" column.

  • Click on the "Edit biller" link.
  • This link is located on the left hand side under your list of billers.
Step 2 - Make your updates and click "Save"
  • You can update the BPAY® reference number and/or the biller description.
  • When you are happy with your edits click "Save".

Your biller details will then be updated. It's important to ensure that the reference number is accurate or your payment may be unsuccessful or paid to the incorrect account.

Important notes

Why can't I edit my biller?

You cannot edit a biller if there is a future or recurring BPAY® bill payment scheduled for that biller.

  • For example if you have recurring bill payments scheduled for a biller they cannot be edited.
  • You must first cancel any pending future or recurring bill payments.

If you wish to delete a future dated or recurring bill payment, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to the bill payment date.

What information can I edit about a biller?

You can either change the reference number or description for the biller.

  • Once you're happy with the changes click on "Submit"
  • You will return to your biller list immediately, with the biller details updated.
What if I have scheduled payments to that biller?

You cannot edit a biller if there is a future BPAY® bill payment scheduled for that biller.

  • You must first cancel any pending future bill payments.

If you wish to delete a future dated or recurring bill payment, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to the bill payment date.

Can I delete a biller?

Yes. You can delete a biller from the BPAY® biller list any time. To delete a biller from your BPAY® biller list follow the steps below:

  • Click on the "Edit BPAY® biller list" link on the Pay BPAY® bills page.
  • You can also access your list from the "Update details" menu.
  • The BPAY® biller list displays all of your saved billers.
  • Select a particular biller to delete, using the radio buttons under the "Select" column and click on "Immediately delete biller".
  • This will delete the biller immediately within the same ANZ Internet Banking session.

Please note that you cannot delete a biller if there is a future BPAY® bill payment scheduled for that biller.

  • You must first cancel any pending future bill payments.

If you wish to delete a future dated or recurring bill payment, the request must be lodged with ANZ Internet Banking prior to 12.00am (midnight AEST) on the day prior to the bill payment date.
