The Australian Federal Government has announced a $A9.3 billion surplus in 2023-2024. It’s the first time the government has posted two consecutive surpluses since before the 2008 global financial crisis.
Looking ahead, the government has flagged larger deficits are to be expected from 2024-25 to 2026-27.
