Subhas DeGamia – Chief Executive Officer, India, ANZ
Subhas DeGamia was appointed Chief Executive Officer Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited, India Branch (ANZ India) in May 2011.
In this role, Subhas has overall responsibility for ANZ’s business growth in India.
Subhas has more than twenty years of financial markets and institutional banking experience with ANZ including senior leadership roles in New Zealand, Australia, India and across Asia.
He has a strong and dynamic record of building and growing large customer oriented businesses, large scale business integration and transformation, and business expansion in growth markets.
From 2008 to 2011, Subhas was CEO of ANZ Capital India, a non funds based financial advisory services company based in Mumbai.
Prior to his role as CEO India, he was Joint Head of Markets, Asia, based in Singapore where he was directly responsible for Institutional and Corporate Sales, Risk Solutions and Partnerships for ANZ’s Markets business.
Subhas had assisted clients internationally in the management of financial risk, developing structured hedging strategies for cross border exposures as well as in prudent asset and liability management. His previous employment with PriceWaterhouseCoopers also enabled him to undertake business advisory projects in New Zealand and the Pacific.
Subhas completed his Executive MBA in 2003 from Melbourne Business School (Mt Elisa Campus) and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. He is also a CA member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Subhas is married with 3 children and is a sports enthusiast with a penchant for cricket and soccer.
