The Power Team operates as a global group with members in London,
New York, Delhi, Mumbai, Bahrain, Singapore,
Sydney and Melbourne and has extensive knowledge and experience of
Independent Power Projects (IPPs) and acquisitions as well as the developing
field of Merchant Power.
The team has a track record in:

In power project finance advisory and debt arrangement, ANZ Investment
Bank has established an unrivalled track record in the Middle East and
South Asia. As the economies of these regions continue to expand and
diversify, the need for significant increases in power production and
distribution will grow and alternative sources of finance will need
to be explored and harnessed to ensure the most effective financing structure. ANZ has consistently supported the regions’ development and is currently ranked as one of the leading arrangers of cross border finance in the Middle East and South Asia. The Power team has been involved in the majority of Project Finance deals in the Middle East to date.
The multi-cultural team members have vast experience gained from many years involved in project and related financings. This has led to mandates with many different developers and our involvement in the largest and most complex projects within the regions.
This allows us to advise our clients on the different tax/ accounting/ legislative/ cultural regimes that may be found. We can also call on our colleagues from other product groups, such as the Export Credit or Islamic Finance Departments, to provide a winning solution for our clients.
The group has dedicated power financial modelling resources enabling model builds, reviews and the running of alternative scenarios and sensitivity analysis relating to Power projects.
Recent deals include involvement in a wide range of transactions.
The Power Team has been Financial Advisor to bidders on three of the most recent major power and desalination projects in the Middle East: Barka (Oman), Ras Laffan (Qatar) and Shuweihat (Abu Dhabi).
