     ANZ ePOS
ANZ ePOS is a ‘shrink wrapped’ software solution which enables businesses, which sell products or services remotely, to offer credit and charge card payment facilities to their customers. The ANZ ePOS solution is easily and simply integrated into the payment processing applications operated by the business. ANZ ePOS is cost effective and offers mail order, telephone order, call centre and Internet businesses an efficient and effective method of obtaining credit and charge card authorisations and crediting the value to their business account same day.

ANZ ePOS is able to be quickly interfaced, via standard software connections called API’s (Application Programmatic Interfaces), to multiple types of business payment applications. Typically it interfaces to Internet Web applications, Mail Order, direct entry applications and IVR automated customer entry applications. Interfaces to existing business applications can be completed in as little as three days. ANZ ePOS is essentially a software application integrated into a businesses merchant server, which allows the merchant server to directly connect to the ANZ bank as though it was an EFTPOS device on the ANZ EFTPOS network. Accordingly, the ANZ ePOS server and therefore by default, the merchant server application, supports all the security standards inherent within the EFTPOS AS2805 standards.

ANZ ePOS also offers to businesses, who do not currently have payment applications, a standard payment application to enter credit card details for payment processing.

The benefits of this solution are that it offers electronic authorisation, automated crediting of the business account same day and can be fully integrated into multiple business applications. This service also attracts a lower merchant service fee due to the lower cost of operation and bypassing third party payment gateways and therefore their fees.

ANZ ePOS, due to it’s cost, typically would not suit a business doing less than $100,000 annual credit card sales turnover. ANZ ePOS has a comprehensive client base for reference if required.

ANZ ePOS is a truly global product. ANZ ePOS has the capability to service businesses that trade in New Zealand, and connects directly to the New Zealand banking system. ANZ ePOS will be available soon in other countries. The below diagram outlines the major components involved in processing an ePayment transaction utilising ANZ ePOS.

ANZ Bank has been selected as part of the Commonwealth Government Business Entry Point (BEP) initiative as an approved eCommerce payment (ePayment) provider for Government Departments and Agencies.
