Verified by Visa

Verified by Visa is a new standard feature on eGate which is designed to make Internet transactions safer by authenticating cardholder’s identity at the time of purchase.

The benefit to Internet merchants includes providing identity and chargeback protection against transactions that have been authenticated by Verified by Visa.

• From April 2003, the merchants using Verified by Visa will not be liable for Visa online "fraudulent purchaser" type disputes (i.e. "I didn't do it" type transactions).
• Visa believe up to 80% of e-Commerce chargebacks and fraud may be eliminated through authenticated payment.

Verified by Visa is simple to install and use with minimal software and development requirements.

• Verified by Visa is also now available to all merchants using ANZ hosted eGate and ANZ ePOS.
