Q. What is Verified by VISA and why should I enrol?
A. Verified by VISA is a free service that provides extra protection when you shop online at Verified by VISA merchants using your ANZ Visa Card. It lets you use a personal password while making purchases online, giving you the added assurance that only you can use your ANZ Visa Card.This protection is similar to entering your PIN at an ATM.

Q. How does Verified by VISA provide me with more protection?
A. Once you have enrolled for Verified by VISA and attempt to make a purchase online at a Verified by VISA merchant, your card will be recognised as a Verified by VISA enabled card. This will activate a two-way confirmation between yourself and Visa:

  1. Your Personal Message will be displayed (message created when you enrol for Verified by VISA) confirming that you are dealing with a genuine Verified by VISA merchant.
  2. You will then be required to identify yourself by entering your chosen password.

Q. What is a Personal Message?
A. Your Personal Message is the message that you create when you enrol for Verified by VISA. Your Personal Message will be displayed whenever you make an online purchase with your ANZ Visa Card at participating merchants. This message provides you with the assurance that you are dealing with a Verified by VISA merchant.

Q. What happens if I don’t want to enrol?
A. You will be able to defer enrolment three times. After you defer three times, you will need to enrol in Verified by VISA to continue shopping online with VbV participating merchants.

Q. Can additional cardholders shop with Verified by VISA once I enrol?
A. If there are multiple cardholders, each cardholder will need to enrol for Verified by VISA in order to shop online with the Verified by VISA protection at participating merchants.

A. Once you have enrolled, you can change these at any time by clicking the 'Enrol Now' button on the Verified by Visa password entry screen. Alternatively you can call 13 33 50 to have your Verified by VISA password reset.

Q. What if I forget my password?
A. If you have forgotten your Verified by VISA password and you haven’t suspended your Verified by VISA account, you can simply click on the ‘Forgot your password’ link on the Verified by VISA password entry screen and re-enrol. You will be asked to create a new Verified by VISA password and Personal Message.
