Q. What is a balance transfer?
A. A balance transfer happens when you transfer the outstanding balance of your credit or store card account from another financial institution to your ANZ credit card account. You can choose to transfer a full or partial amount of your credit or store card balance to your ANZ credit card account.

Q. Why transfer my balance?
A. By transferring the debit balance of your other credit or store cards to an ANZ credit card and closing your other accounts, you can significantly reduce the difficulty in managing different card repayments. Transferring your balance to a card with a lower interest rate can help you save on interest which means you can pay off your balance faster.

Q. How does the Balance Transfer Calculator work?
A. The Balance Transfer Calculator calculates the difference in interest charges between your non-ANZ card and the ANZ credit card you wish to transfer your balance to. Interest is calculated on the balance amount you input assuming a fixed interest rate for six months. The calculator works on the assumption that no transactions will be made during the six month balance transfer period other than monthly repayments of 2% of the outstanding balance made at the end of each month.
