Professional and career development opportunities at ANZ extend beyond promotions and include experiences that encourage our people to learn and try new and different things.
- - our people have six-monthly performance discussions that provide detailed feedback on their achievements, opportunities and development needs. All staff have at least one structured development planning session with their manager each year.
- - eTrain is our web-based learning system, which includes a range of training and study programs that can be undertaken from work computers.
- - we encourage managers to have a tertiary qualification from a recognised institution. We support this by providing two days of study leave per subject, with fees reimbursed when each subject is passed. We also support learning by providing $500 per annum towards compulsory textbooks.
- - the ANZ Careers recruitment centre helps us to attract the very best talent from within and outside the organisation. We also have an 'Opportunities Bank', which allows staff to diversify their work experience and develop new skills via short-term secondment opportunities.
- - our graduate program supports and develops the talents of the graduates we recruit annually, and attracts around 7,000 applications every year. In 2005, we recruited 236 graduates in Australia and New Zealand. who commenced work in 2006. We have 256 potential roles for recruitment in Australia and 56 in New Zealand, for commencement in 2007
- - our highest potential people are identified at all stages throughout their career and targeted to participate in programs which provide additional development opportunities, greater access to the organisations most senior leaders and accelerated learning.
