Q. What does the switching website do?
A. The switching website is an online tool ANZ has developed to make it easier to switch your accounts to ANZ and transfer your regular payments (salary, direct debits, direct credits, etc.) to your ANZ account.

Q. What do I need to do to switch my regular payments?
A. Simply follow these three simple steps:

  1. Enter details for your new ANZ account and your old account.
  2. Enter details of the regular payments to and from your old account.
  3. Print, sign and send the letters generated.

Q. How does the switching website make it easier to switch regular payments to ANZ?
A. The switching website generates letters addressed to the companies you have regular payments with, advising them of your ANZ account details. All you need to do is print the letters, sign and send.

Q. What should I do once I've printed the letters?
A. Please read the letters to ensure all information is correct. Once you are comfortable that the letters are accurate, all signatories for the account should sign each letter and send them to the relevant companies.

Q. Is there a cost for using the switching website?
A. No. This service is free to ANZ customers.

Q. Does the switching website help me with closing my old account?
A. No. Most financial institutions require customers to visit a branch to close their account.

Q. Does ANZ store the information I enter on the switching website?
A. No. ANZ does not store the information you enter on the switching website. This information is used to generate the letters only, and will not be available once you log out of the site.

Q. If I make an error, can I change my information?
A. Yes, a summary page will allow you to make changes to the details you have entered. If you realise you have made an error after you have sent the letters, you will need to contact the relevant companies and inform them of the mistake.

A. If a regular payment has not been switched, you should contact the company you have the payment arrangement with.

A. If you would like a 13 month regular payment listing for an ANZ account you can request one by calling 13 13 14 or by visiting your local ANZ branch.

Q. How long will it take before I receive my 13 Month Regular Payment listing for an ANZ account?
A. 13 Month Regular Payment Listing for an ANZ account will be mailed directly to your registered mailing address within 5 business days of raising the request.

Q. What do I need to bring to the branch for ANZ to request a 13 Month Regular Payment list from another bank?
A. You will need to provide the account name, BSB, account number of the relevant account along with the name(s) of the people with authority to use the account. You may find some of this information on an account statement.

Q. How and when will I receive my 13 month listing from another bank?
A. We will provide you with a switching pack that includes a 13 Month Regular Payment Listings along with a pre-populated Notice of Variation and Variation Schedules for your regular payments (direct credits/direct debits).within 13 business days of raising the request with an ANZ branch.

Q. How do I transfer my regular payments from my old account to my ANZ account?
A. Everything you need will be provided in the switching pack for you to move your regular payments to your ANZ account. Provided you don't need to make any changes to the forms you can just sign and return them via the pre-paid envelope provided.

Note - if you want to change the information on the pre-populated forms, you will need to bring them into your local ANZ branch so we can prepare new ones for you. Please ensure you bring all pre-populated forms with you.

A. If you want to cancel a payment or would simply like assistance with completing the forms, please come and visit your local ANZ branch.

Q. How will I know when my payment details have been updated?
A. The companies you have payment arrangements with (E.g. Utility Companies) will send confirmation to you directly outlining new payment account details or confirmation of a payment cancellation.

Q. What things should I consider when switching my accounts?
A. When switching payments, some companies require notice of a change of bank details well in advance of the billing date. In this case, a switching notice may not take effect until the next billing cycle.

It is important to retain an adequate balance in your old account until notification is received from the company you have payment arrangements with (E.g. Utility Companies) that your regular payments have been transferred to the new account.

Q. Can I switch my Internet Banking 'Pay Anyone' payments through the ANZ branch service?
A. No. The branch service does not include Internet Banking 'Pay Anyone' instructions. These payment instructions will need to be set up directly by you within Internet Banking.

Q. Can I switch my credit card through the Branch Service?
A. No. Credit cards are not supported by the ANZ branch switching service.
