Bank drafts and telegraphic transfers are convenient means of forwarding funds overseas. These products are commonly used by businesses engaged in import or export transactions and by individuals sending money overseas to friends or relatives.
Arrangements can be made throughout the world with correspondent banks to facilitate the payment between you and overseas parties.
Bank drafts
Bank drafts are an economical way of making payments to overseas businesses for goods or services. In the event of a lost or stolen bank draft, ANZ will refund the money or reissue you with a new draft (after confirming your identity and that the draft payment has not been paid).
Telegraphic transfers
Telegraphic transfers, by contrast are a fast way to send money overseas. Funds are directly deposited where recipients can usually receive their funds within 24 hours of dispatch.
