About FATCA

Since July 2014, all Financial Institutions have been required to comply with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) under a range of international and local laws.

FATCA requires ANZ to ask customers about their United States tax residency status and Citizenship, and to collect certain information and/or documentation to determine whether accounts are reportable to a local or international tax authority, such as the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

Collection and sharing of the required information will be completed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
If you are uncertain about your United States tax residency status or the appropriate treatment for your entity under FATCA, please seek advice specific for your circumstances from your tax professional.

If you would like more information, please refer to the ATO website and type ‘FATCA’ in the search box. You can also call us on 1800 617 393 (Select Option 2, Option 1) between the hours of 8.30am - 5.30pm AEDST Monday to Friday.
