ANZ supports recovery efforts in disaster affected regions

The Pacific tsunami, Indonesian earthquake and Typhoon Ketsana in the Philippines and Greater Mekong Region have had a devastating impact on local communities.

ANZ has announced donations through aid agencies to support recovery efforts across the region:

  • AU$100,000 to Red Cross to assist with relief efforts in Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga
  • AU$50,000 to Red Cross to assist relief efforts in Sumatra
  • AU$30,000 to Red Cross to assist relief efforts in Vietnam and the Philippines
  • AU$20,000 to assist in Laos and Cambodia through CARE Australia

Chief Executive Officer Asia Pacific, Europe & America, Mr Alex Thursby, said, “These events have had a terrible impact on communities, including tragic loss of life. We understand this is a very difficult time and we want to help support these communities with disaster relief and as they begin the process of recovery.”
