Sustainability at ANZ is about ensuring our business is managed to take account of social, environmental and economic risks and opportunities. By taking these factors into consideration across all areas of our business, we can create and preserve value for customers, shareholders, our people, the environment and the communities in which we operate.
Each year we set public sustainability targets and a corresponding Group-wide program of work to support the delivery of our business strategy. We formally report on our performance through the publication of our interim and full year Corporate Sustainability Reviews.
Our Sustainability Framework has three key areas of focus; Sustainable growth, Social and economic participation and Fair and responsible banking and is aligned with the bank's Purpose, which is to shape a world where people and communities thrive.
We undertake a materiality review annually, engaging with our stakeholders to ensure our framework, commitments and reporting continue to reflect the highest priority issues facing our business and the communities in which we operate.
Effective engagement with our stakeholders is an important part of our business and is embedded into ANZ’s policies, processes and operations.
