The New Colombo Plan (NCP) is a signature initiative of the Australian Government supporting Australian undergraduate students to study and undertake internships in the Asia Pacific region. At ANZ, we believe in the Asia Pacific as the world's trading hub and in support of the NCP, ANZ is pleased to be able to provide internship opportunities to students who have been awarded NCP scholarships in one of the most dynamic and diverse areas – Institutional Division. Its main focus is delivering world-class integrated solutions to our government, corporate and institutional clients across the globe.
The Internship Opportunity
All ANZ NCP interns are provided with a consistent experience that includes challenging work with exposure across the business/function in which you are placed. During your internship you will be assigned specific projects/key tasks to be completed, have the opportunity to network to enable exposure to other business areas and be assigned a buddy who will support you as you navigate your way around ANZ. Our paid Intern Program is a great way for NCP students to explore a career within the banking and finance industry in the Asia Pacific region while gaining invaluable corporate and cultural experience.
Currently we are offering NCP internship opportunities in Singapore and Hong Kong.
At least eight weeks at full time hours (excluding any holidays).
To be eligible for an ANZ internship position NCP students must:
- Meet the eligibility/selection criteria set out by DFAT and have been awarded an NCP Scholarship for 2017
- Have successfully met all of ANZ's pre-employment checks
- Have arranged appropriate Visas/Insurance cover for the duration of their NCP internship
- Be in at least the second year of your degree in disciplines such as Banking and Finance, Business, Commerce, OR demonstrate strong interest in working in the banking and finance industry.
For more information on the NCP, please visit the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website.
What makes a good Institutional intern?
We’re looking for people who can make a difference, are independently-minded, yet collaborate with others for better outcomes. You must be hard-working, digitally savvy and keen to experience the challenges and rewards of our global business. People who are interested in what’s happening around the world and want to be part of building a business that gives back to its customers, employees, shareholders and communities alike.
While achieving high marks in a degree is big plus, we’re looking for what you can bring to the table; what makes you, you. Community work, travel, sporting achievements, passion, interests and life experiences make for a well-rounded person – and a competitive applicant.
Applications for the 2017 NCP Program will open at 12pm AEST on 3rd April 2017 and close at 11:59pm on 14th April 2017.
The application process is simple. But taking the time to prepare and know what’s required will give you the best chance of success.
The process is broken down into four key stages:
1. Online Application
You’ll be asked for a few written responses to various questions. We simply want to know who you are, your skills and interests, and why you’d like to join our NCP Program.
2. Online Assessments
Based on your responses in the online application, you may be invited to complete an online assessment. These online assessments help us determine if you’re the right fit for our NCP Program.
3. Face-to-Face Assessments
If you’re successful in the online stages, you’ll be invited to undertake a case study activity at one of our assessment centres, as well as a face-to-face interview.
Finally, if you’re successful, you’ll get a verbal offer to join our program, followed by a Letter of Offer.
