Providing a secure environment for customers to transact foreign exchange
across the Internet is a matter of great importance to ANZ. To address this
issue, multiple security levels have been embedded within ANZ FX Online. Security features include the following:
- Digital Certificates: Digital certificates are used to identify
users. Digital certificates use public-key algorithms with a private key for
identification and a public key required for verifying them.
- User-ID and Password are required to logon to ANZ FX Online
Dealing. First-time ANZ FX Online Dealing customers are given a
User-Id and a temporary password. Once logged on, customers will be required to
change their first-time password. In addition, customers are required to change
their passwords at a regular interval and will be automatically logged off
(timed out) after a period of inactivity.
- 128-bit Encryption technology is used to protect information passing
between customers and ANZ over the Internet. This encryption technology reduces
the risk of information transmitted between ANZ and its customers being
intercepted.
- To ensure customer information on ANZ's own computer systems is protected,
ANZ uses Firewall technology which acts as a "security door" between ANZ
systems and the Internet. This is intended to ensure that only authorised access
to our systems is permitted.
